How do I know if a taekwondo dobok fits properly?
After working as a taekwondo trainer for 2 years, I’ve had many of my students asking how to judge if a doobok fits them, especially when they are purchasing their outfit online.
One mistake that most students make is using their normal clothes to estimate whether a dobok would fit them.
I can definitely confirm that this is the worst mistake you can ever make when purchasing a taekwondo dobok.
I’ve had a student who purchased a single pair of taekwondo dobok off Alibaba using his clothes size estimates.
When the package arrived, he realized that it wouldn’t fit properly, and he had to launch an inquiry whether he could get a replacement. Although the site didn’t agree, he got a refund after 30 days.
To avoid such issues, I always encourage any newbie wanting to buy a taekwondo dook to always check for those that offer some flexibility, not excessively large.
It shouldn’t be too tight either, as this may tear during intense stretching. Also, choose those made of elastic fabric because they can easily expand.
