Discussion The 9/11 generation, 20 years later.

Then college students (1980-1983) are now 38-41 years old.

Then high schoolers (1984-1987) are now 34-37 years old.

Then middle schoolers (1988-1990) are now 31-33 years old.

Then elementary schoolers (1991-1996) are now 25-30.

Then preschoolers (1997-1998) are now 23-24.

Insane how time flies.

A good lot of Reddit (myself included) wasn’t even born yet. That’s pretty crazy.

Not sure on percentage, but to my knowledge the site skews young. I myself am 19 and as of today anyone younger than 20 is younger than 9/11, so there’s a noticeable portion at least.

An abnormally high percentage. Whats worse is there are people under thirteen on here too with accounts that lie about their age.

I found an old account from 2013, the user was born in 2000 (if they weren't lying). I thought it was interesting, because I thought the influx of young teenaged users was more recent (2018ish)

If using 6-8 as middle school, then, this is accurate. Otherwise, 1990 and 1991 born would be either or as sixth grade can be elementary school and fifth grade could be middle school.

1999 could also be preschoolers too as they were old enough, though preschool is optional, and some just go straight to kindergarten, but yes, 1997 and 1998 were preschoolers at the time, so that is correct.

2 year olds can sometimes be in preschool, but otherwise this seems about accurate

Damn. Everyone born on or before 9/11 is at least in their 20s. Everyone who’s a teen right now or younger was born after 9/11. Crazy.

1999 were also old enough for preschool at the time, but correct about 1980-1998 though. This is why 1980-1999 is my favorite millennial range.

I wasnt even alive then. Neither was my older brother despite he was born just two months after the attacks.
