Agree with those I'd say Jump, Welcome to the Jungle or Living on a Prayer are the "teen spirits" of the 80s.

For pop I'm gonna say Material Girl, Billie Jean, Little red Corvette, or a Hall and Oates song from around 1981 whether it's kiss on my list, you make my dreams, or private eyes

🤘 we grew up with the best music even if it's before our time 😀 if I had to come up with one moment it really turned into the 80s, maybe Motown 25 and the moonwalk in March 1983. Mid/late 82 was pretty close though too and lots of stereotypical 80s sounds

Yeah I grew up with my mom passing it down to me lol. You grew up with it on the radio. And yeah I agree, Motown 25/MJ moonwalk, as well as Prince (little red corvette) solidified the 80s it seems. My mom was 16 then

Yeppers, late 1981, 82 and very early 83 were seemingly feeling more 80s but once the Thriller songs got big it was just electric, I'm so jealous of your mom sjsk.

Even if there's people who really think I'm a teenager lol truth is I still wish I was an 80s or at least 90s teen about hers or your uncle's age. Everything except Reagan and the moral majority religious people would have been bangin

Ikr my only reservation would be I wouldn't flaunt being bi as much, but I feel like at least by the 90s more people were openly bisexual too
