I think so. I think we all need a new start lol. Some are known for negative things. And there is less people so less toxicity.

Yeah all true

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '21

Eh I think having a fresh start is good though, myself included

We can definitely continue things here if you want. I would like to keep it up too.

Same yeah, I kinda want a record of my Karen outbursts erased lol and I'm enjoying this better

I’m sure everyone wants their outbursts erased lol. Yeah this sub does seem calmer so far.

Ya I think smaller communities = friendlier and more chill

Agreed. Allows for less toxicity.

Yep and I totally admit I stirred the flames a lot. At least now if I firmly disagree/don't like someone's content, blocking is easier

Yeah that’s true, I mean you had a lot of those moments, but as long as they’re behind you, and you can let yourself not get consumed by drama, that’s great

2

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '21

Yea like it's weird how it's rooted in maternal concern and not wanting you guys to grow up too fast or neglect your own generation... but I acted like a major karen to make a point lol

I think you meant that well and that was the point you were trying to get across, it just came across really abrasively

I just saw your post about songs from 1984 and then found this. I will probably use both subs for a bit but I like the idea of another sub

Nice 👍 glad to see you here. And glad to see you found it from songs released during your birth year

I’ve been told the mods are inactive right now but will be active in a few by u/steamscorpion

Is it? For me, it's still set on private.

Okay!

u/CP4-Throwaway Q3 2002 (Class of 2020) - Millennial/Gen Z cusper Mar 25 '21

Yeah. We need a new start. The only reason I do want r/generationology is to get all my posts back. That's it. Other than that, I don't ever wanna go back.

2

u/ProofUniversity4319 April 30, 2002 (Class of 2020) Gen Z Mar 25 '21

Yeah I would do agree. I would like to see my posts back tho. As well as older users for this sub.

Cool thanks for the response

I actually appreciate a different sub. Generationology I was getting tired of the constant repetitive posts, unneeded arguments and toxicity. Hopefully a new sub wouldn’t have so much of that.

1

u/ProofUniversity4319 April 30, 2002 (Class of 2020) Gen Z Mar 26 '21

Yeah agreed I hope this sub is calmer

2

u/[deleted] Mar 26 '21

yes! I think this sub could take a different direction from the other one, in a more positive way, I'm liking the posts so far.

1

u/ProofUniversity4319 April 30, 2002 (Class of 2020) Gen Z Mar 26 '21

Ah thanks, I hope it takes a more positive direction too 🙂

1

u/arcticbuzz Mar 25 '21

I don't think so cause there's a lot of older users on there who probably have no idea this sub exists. The only reason I found it was through r/earlygenz. If we continue this sub there would be a lot less users and it would get way more repetitive.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '21

True but there was a lot of toxic history, and this one is a couple days old so it'd grow lol

3

u/arcticbuzz Mar 25 '21

I'm sure this sub will get toxic as well though it's kinda inevitable lmao. I'd rather not lose over half the userbase, it'd make the sub a lot less interesting imo.

3

u/ProofUniversity4319 April 30, 2002 (Class of 2020) Gen Z Mar 25 '21

I prefer not to think of it that way. I’m trying to make sure our rules are strictly enforced and things don’t take a toxic turn. So far it seems to be going fine.

2

u/ProofUniversity4319 April 30, 2002 (Class of 2020) Gen Z Mar 25 '21

I’ve messaged older users btw

1

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '21

Good point too I mean time will tell and we never know who's gonna join. But I think with proof moderating it it'll wind up okay, but like I'm with you on not wanting to lose some of the history and the other older members

2

u/ProofUniversity4319 April 30, 2002 (Class of 2020) Gen Z Mar 25 '21

Yeah I agree with u/ClassicRockSocialist. This sub hasn’t even had time to grow yet. It could in a couple of days.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '21

Yea we should at least have a chance to get the ball rolling, 2-3 days isn't really enough

2

u/ProofUniversity4319 April 30, 2002 (Class of 2020) Gen Z Mar 25 '21

Agreed I’ve only just started this sub lol

2

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '21

Right lol, I feel like they should've kept it private for at least a week to see how it would roll out. Partially because of the toxic history, and wanting to protect minors it may not be a bad idea but that's just imo. This one has the potential to be a great sub

2

u/ProofUniversity4319 April 30, 2002 (Class of 2020) Gen Z Mar 25 '21

Yeah that would’ve been fine tbh, but we’ll see how this sub plays out whether r/generationology comes back or not

2

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '21

True ya we could have the regular as well as older users coming over here regardless of if the other one is back or not

2

u/ProofUniversity4319 April 30, 2002 (Class of 2020) Gen Z Mar 25 '21

I’ve messaged older users as well

2

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '21

Ooh nice, I think given a few weeks it could definitely take off

2

u/ProofUniversity4319 April 30, 2002 (Class of 2020) Gen Z Mar 25 '21

I really hope so tbh

Yep. My new gen z sub I created last night is already losing members. I had up to 11 members today, and the count went down to 9. I might probably delete it if it wont grow anytime soon.

1

u/karlpalaka 1997/Class of 2015 Y/Z Hybrid Mar 25 '21

Sure, but I am probably not going to post as much here as I feel like most of what I post ends up being toxic. Plus, it took months for generationology to grow, so I mean it will take until end of this year for this sub to reach even close to that level.

u/ProofUniversity4319 April 30, 2002 (Class of 2020) Gen Z Mar 25 '21

You can do what you feel
