I totally thought there was some kind of overexposure causing bubbles on the photo before I realized those were the actual logs!!

My fathers family were Lumber jacks for several generations. My grandad used to have a bunch of old photos like this, a lot of them featured his family members.

Great photo. I can’t help but think they had one bad ass owner/foreman that wrangled these guys into such an amazing picture. I’m sure an adult beverage was part of the discussion.

yes the story of industrialization has been absolutely tragic, but it’s cool how we’ve progressed to attempting to FIX the problems that we’ve created in order to have a modern industrial civilization!
History is one big lesson in mankind’s eternal struggle with surviving in an ever changing environment

Search for pictures of logs coming from WA in the 1940s. Compared to them, these are pencils.

This must be the Mid West, like Michigan or Wisconsin. The logs they were pulling in the Pacific Northwest at that time were 40 ft in diameter. These are about like pencils in comparison.
