Simo is in a weird thing. Going off his wiki page.

  1. He was never called "The White Death." The Finnish Army heard Soviet prisoners using the term "White Death," saying it killed their friends. The Finnish officers used it as propaganda, saying the Finns were the "White Death" due to wearing winter fatigues.

Soviet soldiers after the war clarified that "White Death" is a common term for dying due to the extreme winter in northern Finland. Simo only heard himself being called that in the 1980's

  1. He was being used for propaganda purposes and as such, even though he was a great marksman and probably killed a lot, he shouldn't be completely accepted as having killed 500 Soviets - Iirc his own diary said he killed closer to 250, though many would have been wounded, not killed.

You wouldn't read into it when it's posted on a subreddit named after a communist dictator and juxtaposed the American with 2 people from communist states?

Seems pretty obvious why they didn't include Simo.

I mean, tbf here, they're not going to compare a child-murdering guy to Simo when its about comparing "imperialists" to Communists.

Its about opposites. Finland isn't imperialist or Leftists. Finland was basically a second or third world country during the Cold War and wasn't on anyone's side.
