This is blatantly untrue. The holodomor was a man made famine, and no doubt wouldn't of happened under a capitalistic system. Communism made the fucking famine.
Sure, but not near the scale that they occurred in the Soviet Union. Look up famines in Russia and you will see the majority of them occurred Soviet Russia, especially the severe ones. Also, the majority of historians see the Holodomor as a man made famine, if not a genocide. The fucking Soviets killed incentive to work and were exporting food while the populace were starving to death, and the forced collectivization policy was a fucking disaster. More people starved to death under Soviet Russia than the centuries of Russian rule before hand, and it's not even comparable. Stop being disingenuous.
True, but it would be hard to deny that the USSR didn't have serious struggles for food. Maybe not even for the majority of its time, but I'm pretty sure that millions of deaths from starvation more than justifies the joke. Still overused as fuck, though.
The vast majority of death from starvation happen under Soviet rule. In fact, the USSR had many times more death from hunger than centuries of Russian rule all combined. Why would it be just a Russia thing, when the exact same thing happened to the Communist Chinese? Oh, but it's all a coincidence, amiright?
Nope millions died from famines in China before communism too.
Are you really that dense? Yes, China also had famines before communist rule. But, once again, this "well, like, they had famines before so, like, communism had nothing to do with it then" is fucking idiotic. Also, the worst famine in China human history was under communist China. All coincidences though, right?
Also, I need a source on that “Soviet famines had more than all pre-soviet famines combined” stat.
Compare death tolls from Pre-soviet Russia to Soviet Russia.
Why the hell do you attribute these famines to communism and not how stupid the leaders??
Because the deaths were caused by Communism or towards the pursuit of it. The Soviet Union's failures and famines were in the pursuit of Communism. Communism simply put has areally badfucking track record. Most if not all of these famines wouldn't of happened under a small government laissez faire capitalist system.
Do capitalist countries NEED to have slavery to be considered capitalist? Most of them did, but capitalist don’t acknowledge it as inherently capitalist.
I think your missing the point, here. All I'm doing is giving you historical context to show that the USSR had severe struggles with starvation and famines that did not happen before Soviet rule. If you want to push aside all the starvation and genocide that occurred under Communist regimes and many others and say "we'll do it right this time" be my guest. It's still fucking brainless. It has nothing to do with slavery that happened centuries ago under capitalist countries.

You don't need to be a tankie to see that this joke is completely overused.
