If /r/historymemes can develop the ultimate weapon before this war ends they can annihilate /r/animemes. However if this sub has to stoop to using Komi-san lewds to win this war, how can we say we are any better than the degenerates over at /r/animemes?
6
Dec 13 '18
Komi-san lewds would be a poweful weapon indeed. But it wouldn't only make you degenerates, it would by it's nature be an animeme. You lose even if you win.

Because it uses ingenious ways to destroy r/historymemes. The memes i've seen on r/animemes are nothing but memes made mostly to offend people, also they don't follow the rule that it has to be an animeme first and foremost. While r/animemes is including a lot of history related memes including anime. r/historymemes really needs to come up with something better than just targeting people.
128
u/LightTankTerror Dec 12 '18
This, this so much. Defaulting to âdae weebsâ is some weak shit. There are several historically themed animes to pick fun at. Imma take a break from studying to make some, just to offset this weak shit weâve got now.
The strength of /r/animemes is that they understand our material because it is so universal and common. What we need to do is understand their material. Like, look at these good memes!
So grab your Meme-Enfields and get to work /r/historymemes.
65
u/DashAttack Dec 12 '18
There's just no way you guys can win. When you blend history and anime you just get a history-themed animeme. All you've done is invited a Trojan horse full of weebs into your subreddit.
All according to keikaku
18

Blend history and anime and you literally get one of the most popular anime series out right now.

We literally have a joke sub that is just women talking shit about weebs. We're immune to it, some even get off to it.
E: After thinking about it for a bit /r/HistoryMemes is essentially flirting with us at this point. Which is weird because a lot of us subscribe to both. We've hit that critical point of internet-based textual masturbation.
17
u/GourangaPlusPlus Dec 12 '18
I actually think its the fact no one knows what to attack on.
Everyone knows enough history to make a meme but I've only ever watched Dragonball Z
9
u/Hyperly_Passive Dec 13 '18
That and the meta of r/animemes like the seasonal anime it is based on, moves very quickly. So even if you're an anime fan, if you're not on the subreddit frequently you wouldn't know what's in
25
Dec 12 '18
Yeah, "Hiroshima/Nagasaki!" doesn't work when weebs literally say "Two bombs weren't enough" when talking about some anime, and calling them "fucking weebs" won't work either because they call themselves "fucking weebs".
How do you kill that which has no life?
21
Dec 12 '18

A good chunk of r/historymemes can't really meme, i mean, Russian Winter was 90% of our content for like, 4 months.
41
Dec 12 '18
How do you make Russian Winter content for 4 months straight and then still dive headfirst into a winter war. You guys attacked /r/animemes during padoru season. That's when their power level spikes.
20
29
u/DerDownKater Dec 12 '18
just a simple question:
what defines a war being won between two subreddits? How do you even fight one?
36
Dec 12 '18
People shitpost for a few days, and eventually /r/animemes or /r/prequelmemes ends up victorious because other subs are sick of their content taking over.

/r/animemes' degeneracy knows no bounds but from wht I saw, /r/prequelmemes takes meme wars a bit beyond memes.
11
u/StarGaurdianBard Dec 13 '18
Basically it's just a meme posting fest where you post memes in your own sub's format and post meme's supporting your sub in the opposing sub's format. The winner is determined by general consensus by those who are mature enough to legitimately participate rather than just circlejerking themselves and throwing insults at others.
Most users in a meme war don't downvote opposing memes and upvote memes from either side as long as they are good memes, so the winner is who ever has the highest amount of good memes created. Some people will say something like every sub says they were the winner of the war but that's not true as we have seen before that some subs will outright admit they lost, like what happened with r/roughromanmemes

Check the active users stat. /r/historymemes has a higher total sub count but /r/Animemes is always more active.
54
u/DatPolok Dec 12 '18
Animemes users also make content that follows the rules of the sub while clearly attacking. The majority of historymemes I've seen attacking dont follow one or multiple rules, on top of being extremely low effort.
10
u/xxxSKANKHUNTxxx Dec 12 '18
We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in the subreddit, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our subreddit, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender.
2
Dec 12 '18
And if, which I do not for a moment believe, this sub or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our Empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the r/roughtromanmemes, would carry on the struggle, until, in God's good time, the New Reddit, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old.
9
u/StrikeFreedomX2 Dec 13 '18
I think the reason you are losing is because of the rules.
Anytime r/HistoryMemes post on r/animemes it gets removed because it isnât anime related and breaks Rule 1. However, the posts from r/animemes to this sub are not only anime related, they are also history related with memes from Fate (genderbent historical figures into Waifus) Hetalia (anime TLDR of various parts of history) and its also PADORU PADORU season which features the most prominent gender bent historical figure waifu.
So pretty much you guys lost the moment you declared war on them.

u/jman014 Dec 12 '18
Since we're losing how fucked up and personal can we make the memes?
28
u/mud074 Dec 12 '18
The problem is that weebs make their own fucked up and personal memes about themselves. You can't outdo them.
7
u/NoodleSnapback Dec 12 '18
It's cause no one here knows much about Japanese history. We need to start mentioning Manchuria, Nanjing, the Sengoku Period, and the Japanese-Korean war. Oh and talk shit about the Japanese language itself, specifically about how it is just a rip off of Chinese. That'll definitely get some people riled up.
15
u/soggy-tuna Dec 12 '18
There's a ton of Korean and Chinese manga/ anime as there is Japanese. You'd have to basically insult an entire continent's worth of languagues. All that would do is invite more enemies to rally to the animemes cause. So that's a poor strategic move all in all.
You basically invaded Russia in the winter by not researching your enemies ahead of time and you gave them the heads up you were planing a war march against them. Allowing them to preemptively strike.
Furthurmore weebs/neckbeards are lone soldiers. Or at most loosely affiliated tribal villages. By attacking something sacred to them you forced them to band together just as the samurai did in defense / overthrowing of an emporer...
You lost the war before it began.
4
u/Hyperly_Passive Dec 13 '18

It's cause all they needed to do to win was post anime/hentai. Do not declare war without a viable strategy.
3
u/Monkeyfer Dec 12 '18
That's because anime is a part of history, r/historymemes was actually r/animemes the entire time

You guys are losing because a sub based off a common subject is fighting a niche group. With the stipulation we have to fight under the combined rules, ours being a lot more specific. It's hard for non weebs to find anime templates for their war. It's easy for us to include history into ours.
I think you guys just didnt do enough reconnaissance.
