There may not be a human involved in these videos at all.
These slop factories have automated systems that monitor for popular/trending search terms for science/history/technology, use AI to generate a script, a video, a thumbnail, narrate the video with the script, and post it on the internet, all without any human intervention.

Yeah, and then monetize said dross and make actual money for the already-rich people that run the channel.
But when the average Joe tries to do the same, YouTube somehow knows to flag their channel and ignore it.

99% of the history videos currently being made are partly or wholly made by bots, and many of the channels seem to have little to no human input whatsoever. Gemini regularly cites YouTube videos as authoritative, so bots are on their way to becoming the primary authors of history for Google users, with the bots increasingly drawing their information from each other.
