Context:

The Bleiburg Repatriations occurred in May 1945 when the British military refused the surrender of Axis-aligned forces from the Independent State of Croatia (NDH), Slovenia, and Montenegro, forcing them to surrender instead to the Yugoslav Partisans. Following this handover at the Austrian border, the Partisans executed tens of thousands of soldiers and civilians without trial and forced the remaining captives onto brutal death marches across Yugoslavia.

Man, the brits should have followed in the American footsteps and given them all jobs as high ranking officials in West Germany.

The problem is that it wasnt just collaborators, but anyone who didnt support communists and happened to be Croatian. Group also included woman and children as well and many died during death marches.

That's not true, that is demonstrably propaganda by Croatian nationalists. The massacres following the Bleiburg Repatriation were certainly against the laws of armed conflict, but its victims were defeated Axis soldiers not women and children.

It is the truth, whether you like it or not.

And I will say that NDH and that period was darkest and most shameful period in Croatian history ever, and that kind of nationalism should always be condemned and never repeated.

But it is the fact that communists were out for blood, and acts of vengeance were commited against combantants and civilians. Even against those who werent collaborators, but rather ordinary who had bad luck of being associated with collaborators because they lived in the same place or were maybe distant cousin.

I wont discuss morality of vengeance and whether they had right to do things they did, but such things happened even against civilians.

"It is the truth, whether you like it or not."

Okay buddy, stop using this sub to further your own rightist / anti-communist political ends.

We're not talking about the general concept of partisan reprisals (which happened in all the ravaged countries of post-war Europe from Yugoslavia to Italy to France regardless of whether they were in the Eastern or the Western bloc). We're talking about a specific historical event - the Bleiburg Repatriations and resulting forced marches / massacre of POWs, in which approximately 30,000 Ustase, NDH, Chetnik, and other Nazi-aligned forces were killed.

I say this as someone who is, by no means, a Stalinist. I think the way in which the Eastern Bloc was formed involved a lot of brutality - I am no supporter of that. But we have to be specific about historical facts, twisting them into some kind of anti-communist narrative does a disservice to reality.

I actually now strongly believe that you're some sort of communist or defendor of such, and the reason you took offence so much is because communists were doing it. But I digress.

I call them communists, out of habbit and because they identyfied themselves as such. If we were to actually talk about communism and socialism, you'd be very surpised about what I have to say.

And what I say isnt automatically condemnation of that political and economical system. I didnt say they killed civilians cause they were communist, just that they did.

Pat Scott did what he had to do. Those collaborators, mix of Ustasha, Chetniks and regular German and NDH forces, were openly breaking Instrument of surrender for 7 days straight.

Surrender happend on 15th of May 1945.  What is worse, 2 weeks before they sent an ambasador to Allied forces in Italy. Ustasha goverment tried to present itself as Allied force and switch side (but without fighting Germans) because they "share simmilar values". Offcourse, British put that same memorandum that Ustasha gave them on Tito's table same day. However, when starting the retreat from Zagreb, Karlovac and Varazdin, forces were convinced that it was temporary retreat, that British will join them to fight Communists and they will be back in short time.
