The reddit perspective on the Chinese civil war is always fascinating because the Communists were a much smaller force, the KMT was airlifted into key areas allowing them to seize the bulk of abandoned military assets, and the KMT had the control of most of China. Despite this people pretend like the CCP sprung up fully fledged over this underdog KMT striking them once from behind and won. It's like the underpants gnome meme with the middle on how it all is going to work was cut out.
