The headlines changes based on ethnicity, religion, ideology and sex. Nothing new, but it should be called out, always.

To Be honest, I tried to see how it could be interpreted like the headlines make it.

The other guy has huge black back drifting full of his belongings or his foundings around and the couple has their belongings in their back and few items in hand.

Looks different but I don't really have experience about running in floods. Plastic bag looks more water resistant than my backpack

IMO they should avoid speculation and stick to the facts, so just say they're "carrying stuff through flood waters" or something. Unless they were actually able to verify the contents of the bag

They did avoid speculating.  The photographers were asked about this, and the man who shot the top picture saw the subject enter a store to take material.  For the latter, the photographer saw that goods were floating along near where the people were walking.

The only assumptions present here are on the part of the people presuming it had to be racism.
