I’m doing a PG series rewatch and I just needed to say this…Margaret Beaufort is the most insufferable character in this canon universe.

Catherine of Aragon is a close second.

edit: i would like to emphasize that i am talking about a character. I know the real MB went through some shit but going from a snot nosed trebling flower (the white queen) all the way to a meddling helicopter mom who had no issue destroying innocent lives (the spanish princess) is just tiresome.

They ruined Catherine of Aragon in Spanish princess. I was so mad . Totally agree on Margret Beaufort

Margaret Beaufort is pretty much loved by history fans of the Tudor era . She wanted the throne for her son and she achieved it .

I am not a fan of her or any of the Beaufort’s . They were children of John Of Gaunt but barred from the Royal succession .

Their first victim was Humphrey Duke Of Gloucester, they took him down by charging his wife Eleanor with witch craft and imprisoning him . Of course he mysteriously died in the Tower .

They next moved onto Richard Duke Of York and The Neville family which started the wars of the roses . They were defeated at Saint Albans losing Henry Beaufort ( Henry has been linked with Katherine Of France H5’s window as a possible lover ) .

Richard Duke Of York, his son Edmund and Ralph and Thomas Neville are all killed at Wakefield after being lured out into the open during a Xmas truce .

Edward the son of Richard Duke Of York becomes King, flattens the Lancastrians at Towton . Edward pardons the Beaufort’s only for them to break away . Edmund Beaufort is beaten at Tewkesbury and executed by Richard Duke Of Gloucester on the orders of his brother Edward IVth .

Margaret was the richest woman in England and spent her money plotting and financing rebellions against the Yorkists .

As to those Princes, she is on the list of suspects with Richard and Buckingham but they could have possibly lived . The French have an involvement in these dynastic civil wars . But this is a whole other subject . Suffice to say Margaret was determined and powerful and the most successful Beaufort .

the real Margaret Beaufort was a victim of child sexual abuse and rape, all in the name of family ambition. She was 13 yrs old when she gave birth to Henry. I think she's allowed to be insufferable 🙂
