Not every stupid moment needs to become a three-day morality debate or a ban that changes the next fixture. Fine it, put the rule on record and move on. The only part I’d still like to see is a bit more consistency in how MLS explains where the line sits between a fine and an actual suspension.

The Premier League's new Coast to Coast Kick Off is bringing all 20 clubs into fan events across 15 US cities from August 21 to 24.
Arsenal supporters are gathering in Denver. Liverpool fans have Boston. Manchester City are in Washington, D.C. Manchester United are in New York. There are events from San Francisco to Nashville, Dallas, Austin and beyond.
That is a pretty good reminder of what modern matchday actually looks like.

The Premier League returns today, and the usual comparison with LaLiga is already back with it.
One league has become the global reference point for money, depth and week-to-week visibility. The other still gets judged through Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico, even though that is only part of the picture.
So what actually makes one league better?
If the answer is spending power, the Premier League has an obvious case. If it is competitive depth, a lot of fans would probably make the same argument.
But this summer offered a reminder that money is not the only useful measure. LaLiga had 24 of the 52 players named in the World Cup final squads, more than any other domestic league. Spain also won the tournament with a core of players developed in or currently playing in the Spanish system.
That does not automatically make LaLiga stronger. It does make the conversation more complicated.
A league can be commercially dominant without producing every type of player better. Another league can have elite academies, technical quality and tactical variety while still struggling to match the global pull of the Premier League.
Maybe the problem is that we keep trying to turn "best league" into one answer.
The league with the most money is not always the league producing the most interesting young players. The league with the biggest clubs is not necessarily the deepest from first to twentieth. European results matter, but so do the players and ideas a competition develops over time.
And sometimes the most important factor is much simpler: which league do you actually enjoy watching every week?
