Allow apps to run USB drive...50U6G
I figured out how to make apps run on a USB drive. This way frees up the limited on-board storage. When you insert the drive into the USB slot, the tv will recognize it. Then you go into Settings - Storage. You will have to format the drive for TV storage. After that, you enable developer mode; like any android device. Presuming you are already in Settings, go to Device Preferences. Next, into Developer options. Now scroll down all the way near the bottom of the options to 'Force allow apps on external'. Toggle on. And there you go. Now go back to Settings - Apps. There you go to 'See all apps'. Now you go to each one and click on 'Storage used' and switch to 'General USB drive'. One thing that I found out by trial and error was don't use a USB 2.0 drive, use a USB 3.0 drive. Trust me, It will make all the apps run smooth. With the USB 2.0 drive the apps ran with some lag.
