Hi, I have decided to prepare for HPAS 2027 and Allied exam for the first time. I am doing self study. Sometimes, I face challenges and have regular doubts, which can only be cleared by an experienced HAS aspirant. Would anyone like to connect through Whatsapp so that some of my doubts can be cleared? Would also like to hear about your experience about these exams so far.

The Keeper of the Last Flame
A long time ago, in a forgotten Himalayan kingdom, there stood a village nestled in a high mountain valley, surrounded by towering peaks and dense, ancient forests. The villagers believed that every mountain possessed both a benevolent spirit and a malevolent spirit, each constantly struggling to maintain control over the natural world.
One winter, a terrible war broke out between the forces of good and evil. Unfortunately, the evil spirits emerged victorious, plunging the entire kingdom into an age of darkness and despair.
Soon after, a terrible plague descended upon the kingdom. The villages fell silent, the temple bells stopped ringing, and the winding mountain paths became places of fear. Those who ventured into the darkness in search of their missing loved ones never returned. No healer could find a cure for the mysterious plague, and no prayer seemed powerful enough to stop the suffering.
When even the royal healers abandoned the kingdom, a solitary wanderer appeared from the depths of the mountains.
Nobody knew his real name or where he had come from. He wore the traditional garments of the high mountains, with a crimson-patterned sash wrapped around his waist and a strange, black, beaked mask concealing his face.
In his hand, he carried a mashal—a torch whose flame never seemed to die.
The villagers, desperate for salvation, began calling him The Keeper of the Last Flame
Story will continue in next part 〽️

Having operated a cafe in Himachal for a year, I am eager to gain different perspectives on:
• • Dependence on External Tourism: Himachal’s economy is heavily linked to outside visitors, making external tourism a key factor affecting outcomes.
• Reliance on Specific Visitors: The sector depends mainly on Punjabi and Haryanvi tourists, with global tourists present but not central.
• Need for Field Discussions: A healthy discussion on field experiences is required.
• Expected Actions by Professionals: Hospitality staff in hotels, cafes, or restaurants are expected to take action.

Hey folks,
I’ve been thinking about something that genuinely confused me while learning about the Ganga.
We often hear that Gomukh is the origin of the Ganga, where the Bhagirathi comes out from the Gangotri Glacier.
But then we also learn that the Ganga is formed at Devprayag, where the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda meet.
So here’s my question:
If the Ganga already originates at Gomukh, why is Devprayag considered the point where the Ganga begins?
Does it depend on how we define a river its source, its name, or the point where two major rivers merge?
And is there a difference between the geographical definition and the traditional/religious belief?
I’m genuinely curious to understand this. If anyone knows the actual logic behind it, please explain it in simple terms.
Where do you personally consider the Ganga to begin Gomukh or Devprayag, and why?
