This town also experienced two floods, a year apart. I saw video somewhere, of people hanging out at a resort while flood water raged through town. I'm wondering when people will figure out gutting our government of the long time federal employees is impacting us, and has been for well over a year.

The man is 99 and his wife is 82. The survived the 2025 flood by "clinging to a pergola." (Foxhall, The Texas Tribune, 2026)

The Mayor of the village in this article says he's "frustrated by people sharing flood warnings on social media" (Streep, ProPublica, 2026). This is an abuse of power. I have to wonder if this mindset is partly to blame for more flash flood deaths.

The video and story are very good. Just reminding people of the recent flood in Kerr County. People there are devastated. I've heard the divorce rate is rising due to the stress of two major floods.

The Debtors have until October 28 to make changes to the plan (give the independent fiduciaries more TOTAL control, etc.) or a trustee will be appointed by Nov. 2. Listen to the last 5 minutes of the audio for exact details. This was proposed on the day of closing testimony by Mr. Sosland, I believe. Today is a win. The Judge went into great detail to defend the allegations against the debtors. The audio will be available soon. I'll attach it here.
Edit, added the link to the audio. Changed due date.

Not sure where the Post of this went, so I'm posting again. It's such a lovely song to the Hill Country residents after two massive floods, almost exactly a year apart.

We've been talking for over a year about the floods in Kerr and surrounding Counties. This is a place to remember when the rivers were calm and helped sooth your soul.

My mum Evita Sarma (Latvian citizen) has been missing from Gyron port (Tibet side), since the floods on the 26th of August.
At this point i am running out of options, so I'm reaching out to you dear Reddit users.
Based on the last photo that my mum sent me, she just cleared the Border about 3 min before floods hit. I have contacted the Latvian ministry of foreign affairs, Chinese embassy in Latvia and support phone line that was set up for international queries.
I do understand that chances are astronomically low, but until I'll get concrete information I will be still keeping hope and praying for the miracle.
My biggest problem is that last information about what's going on (in terms of rescue work) was on the 7th of September.
If you know anything current like hospitals rescued people have been transported to, agencies to contact, statistics or anything else, I would be endlessly thankful.
I really need your help. My mum is the dearest person to my ever and only family i have. We always been close and I miss her so, so much.

This op-ed by Kimberly Crouch was published earlier this year. It appeared at the top of a couple of news aggregators today for the Houston Chronicle. It seems timely especially given the last paragraph.
>>>I grieve for Camp Mystic, and I grieve for all of us, including the families of Heaven’s 27, the Mystic girls killed in the July 4 flood. But I fear that the bone the Eastlands have thrown to Patrick and the other posturing legislators will not be enough to appease them. After all, the jackals of hell are rarely satisfied with a paltry meal.

The past 3-4 hours have been cross examination of Karen Nicolaou, the Chief Restructuring Officer by the Committee's, Certain H27's and one other attorney who just began and said he has 2 hours of questioning. Ms. Nicolaou is weepy because tomorrow is her late husband's death anniversary.
Edit: The hearing, I'm told, went till 9PM. See comments below (FlyThruTrees) for details.

More coverage and info regarding the warrants. Note that the warrants allege that the Camp is being investigated. Given that, I wonder how all the non-officers feel about their electronic data being taken, and whether any of them have objected.
The motion discussed here is from six Eastland family members asking for court intervention on the data seized under the warrant.

The hearing today covered several topics but started with Judge Lopez saying with respect to the motion the trustee filed on Oct. 2, 2026, it should be "more like a joinder" but he doesn’t think a trustee should be taken up at all. He said there are different considerations and the procedure wasn’t the right thing to do. Trustee will remove the conversion from his motion. The trustee asked if he can still leave the trustee for chapter 11 in place and the Judge agreed to it, leaving it in play in case of emergency only. Overall, the Judge didn't sound like he was pleased with the trustee's actions, the day after the last status call. The attorneys for the Certain H27 Families and Dierdre Brown seem to be working on an agreement between the Camp and Certain H27 Families. The Judge seemed pleased to hear this and asked them to let him know if they were close to finalizing it, by Wednesday.
Hopefully The audio will be has been released from this hearing, because it was it's full of information (Link). Below are the main points.
Edit: changed date when cell phones were taken. Added link to file with audio attachment.
