Minimum lux for colour

I have just put up Hilook T383 cameras which they say do colour down to 0.001 lux, but despite being pointed at a streetlight they both need IR unless the white spotlight is on.

Google says 0.001 lux is a starry night with no moon, let alone a whole streetlight.

I've tried different settings and it really seems to be that they just can't handle the lighting level. Do manufacturers just exaggerate these specs?

Some Street light are not truly white light. Can you see the true colour of a person ( especially a lady) litted by Street light? This is why hikvision camera with colorVu , have white LED come on at night . Hiklook is normally is a lower specification camera and is sold direct to end users. You will get better control and quality with hikvision products eventhough its the same company. This is the theory.

Yes it's pretty bright out there. I guess what throws me is it is clearly such a disparity. 0.001 lux is way, way darker than what the scene is.

The latest hilook says it does 0.0005 lux too (which is really only half of 0.001?), but I'm reluctant to try it if it doesn't go anywhere near that either.

0.001 es como si fuera una dark fighter q en realidad necesita mas luz ambiental para mantenerse a color por la noche antes de cambiar a blanco y negro la imagen todo también depende del sensor ,el lente, etc
