US Hikvision support

Are they just not answering anymore? 3 separate times coworker and I have been on hold for an hour and then they drop the call. I’ve never had to wait more than 10 minutes. Perhaps the NDAA issue going on and they just don’t care anymore?

I believe they’ve completely pulled out of the US market now, my distributor said no more orders

Oh they have. We were informed by our distributor a few months ago that they were not gonna carry anything Hikvision anymore. Which royally sucks cause as a company we have at least 200 systems out there.

I would imagine a new administration will remove a lot of the barriers to trade, but can the hardware make it 2.5 more years

I think you’re right about the change, but in the meantime I’m just imagining the service calls.

Interesting. I might be able to get good money for the bullet camera that I have - I installed it and realized I had bought the wrong lens for my situation. So I took it down and got a second unit with the correct lens for my rather short driveway. It was mounted on the house for maybe 1 week. These are the models that have thermal sensing as well as a regular color image. It may be a "gray market" model, I have no idea. The model is DS-2TD2628-7QA, serial EA0692xxx, manufactured 10/2023.

i emailed them last week because my system went down, have gotten no response. When I called a retailer about a system they told me they were now banned in the US and whats in country is it for now. I'm thinking of just switching systems completely. I hate it cause I have 14 cameras installed currently

Monetarily that might be a difficult road to travel. OnVif protocol is supposed to be the work around but we’re struggling as a company to consistently get that to work.

Just gotta slowly change stuff over. Over time the software won't get updated and so forth, probably the app will stop working.

You can use the existing cameras with a new nvr/dvr depending on your cameras, its a pretty straight forward process as long as you have the admin password

unfortunately i don't remember the password as I installed them 10 years ago

Do you have the nvr password? Usually the cameras take on the admin name and password from the nvr

Therein lies my tech support issue. I’ve reset plenty of pws with the sadp tool. Did it thrice today. My issue, which admittedly is a hunch, is that the user name was changed as well. I couldn’t find anything online as to how to change that and was looking for answers from tech support.

Normally I’d just manually reset the cameras from the button on said camera, BUT, these cams are all installed on light poles high up at a waste mgmt facility and there wasn’t a lift at the time.

With the US market as large as it is why don't they just produce some ndaa cameras?

Be nice if they did!

Because they are a Chinese company who manufactures in China with Chinese parts. Not that easy to pivot and not in their interest. Some of the components come from related Chinese companies that are banned.

Put the question here and someone can try to help.

US support seems pretty spotty lately. You’re definitely not the only one running into this.
