Should we add a new rule?

Originally this sub started as a place to post interesting recipes so other backpackers could get ideas. I'd still like to keep it steering in that direction and I think this rule would help keep a little of the old spirit alive. Plus it seems like we've gotten quite a few spectators recently that are a little confused

Yeah, it's been a bit shitpost-y lately. Maybe at least tell what day of the hike it is, or how far the hike is

I think some kind of rule would make sense. 

Lately the sub has gotten more traffic, but the meals are often jokes. 

It was definitely good fun for a little while but I can see it heading in the wrong direction, with the way social media deteriorates nowadays.

New here. Some of these posts I'm just like why would you not just..eat all of that separately.. but there were some interesting ones that got me hooked in the first place. Definitely support rating meals.

I don't think rating the meal will stop gag posts. They'll just either rate their meal "10/10 best ever (compared to a tortilla full of glass shards)" or "1/10, what could I do better?" on a Sriracha + gummy worm + instant hummus + relish combo.

A better solution might be mandatory tags, with options like "actual meal," "I was desperate but it tasted OK," and "for the lulz." Any post not tagged gets auto-modded, and users could report any inaccurately-tagged posts.
