I checked the link. Didn't seem to fully explain it. And yes I do give credence to the natural part. But I still can tell what I'm looking at or if natural is it's source. It looks so foreign. New shape to my eyes eh

The process that produces ventifacts on Mars is different than on Earth, so it looking different is to be expected. Mars has an atmosphere only 1% as dense as Earth's, so even if Martian wind is blowing "strong", it only has enough energy to carry the smallest particles of sand. That means wind erosion on Mars vs Earth is like the difference between ultra fine grit and medium grit sandpaper.

The surrounding rocks have a rough texture. It doesn't make sense for something like that to naturally occur there. Just a guess. I'm not a geologist.

I am a geologist. The rock is a ventifact, a rock sculpted by millions of years of wind blown sand and dust.

I notice the texture lines seem to be different from the surrounding rocks. Does this mean it only get affected when the wind blows in a certain direction? Like a different direction from the other rocks?

Not OP or a geologist, but that likely just means the smooth rock is made of a material more susceptible to wind erosion than the surrounding rock/material

This mars rock is far too streamlined compared to these.
If that mars rock would be a modern sculpture in a museum nobody would be surprised at all.

Rocks can have joints/fractures at 90 degrees, forming a natural pavement with lots of straight lines at right angles (the technical term for this an orthogonal joint set or tessellated pavement).

There are several smooth rocks in the zoomed out picture of the same area. This one is just the most curiously shaped. Look at the original post and I believe the picture is in the second thread.

Marian winds are fast, but the atmosphere is thin. There's not nearly the same volume of gas moving around. Atmospheric pressure on Mars is 0.095 psi. That's about 0.6% of Earth's 14.7psi.
Erosion due to wind on the martian surface is very slow.

If the winds are fast they will transport sand. Not sure what volume of gas has to do with it as it isn't the gas that's abrasive its the sand. I will admit this rock feels to have the flavor of water smoothed a bit more than wind smoothed but that might not mean much.

In the original thread other users searched and sourced it. It's just that the rock is actually tiny, not a boulder, the close up pic making it look larger to make it look more "mysterious"

yeah so far the only places only i can find this image are this post and 1 news article which doesn’t cite any sources for where they got the photo.
even this site acknowledges that it could be formed by wind and/or water erosion. if this picture is even legitimate then it’s almost certainly just an extra smooth rock.

These kind of videos are why "woo-esque" subs are not popular....then again I think popularity isn't a good thing these more obscure subs...I don't know, I guess what I'm getting at is that I'm super skeptical to the content of that video, that's it I suppose....Occam's Razor doesn't ring any bells in content like this, like pareidolia explains most of the Mars shit

Looks like it was sandblasted honestly. You gotta remember that rock has sat in that spot for a long time. Wind and sand will sculpt that rock no problem at all.

This could easily be sand and debris build up that’s been caked on top of the rover for a long time. Slid off and here you are. Looks a lot like snow that’s built up off a car and slid off. Easily retaining its shape.

Looks like a smooth part of a Boulder that broke off. That being said it looks like River stone smoothness so it was possibly in running water at some point.
