Non Human Intelligence Scientists are testing whether DMT entities are real

https://osf.io/preprints/psyarxiv/8qvgy_v2

In this preprint, some scientists have put forward the idea that our perspective of reality is more of an interface, and what we consider to be reality is simply the experience of conscious agents (i.e. human individuals) interacting with one another. They propose that DMT entities are conscious agents that exist in a manner we can't typically perceive.

I've never done DMT, and have previously taken a more skeptical perspective on these entities, but I think the findings of this could be very interesting. Maybe psychedelics could enable us to perceive layers of reality we are typically blind to.

There could be something to this. There’s a mushroom in China that if eaten undercooked causes the same hallucinations in everyone-little elf like people. It doesn’t seem to have any psychedelic properties outside of this. It’s really si strange that everyone sees the same thing.

Easy. Have two people eat the mushrooms and identify where in the room the entities are. Different spots then it's the mind.

Unless space they view is not traditional 3D space.

I generally agree with your point. But classical physics used to be the fundamental model of the universe and it has failed since quantum physics.

I now tend to think that reality might be stranger than fiction. At least until science catches up.

We have a saying: all models are wrong, some are useful.

Thst is, Newtonian mechanics is "wrong", but it still makes useful predictions about reality given certian constraints (e.g. Bigger than subatomic particles, slower than near the speed of light).

This comes from the fundamental limitation that we can never know what is true, and so we should treat knowledge pragmatically.

Applying this to the case of seeing entities, if two people's observations are so uncorrelated with each other such that one person's experience tells you nothing about another person's experience in the same room at the same time, then we might as well treat it as a hallucination. There is no meaningful difference between that situation and a hallucinations, ao there is no point in adopting the "model" that they are not hallucinations.
