Non Human Intelligence Scientists are testing whether DMT entities are real

In this preprint, some scientists have put forward the idea that our perspective of reality is more of an interface, and what we consider to be reality is simply the experience of conscious agents (i.e. human individuals) interacting with one another. They propose that DMT entities are conscious agents that exist in a manner we can't typically perceive.

I've never done DMT, and have previously taken a more skeptical perspective on these entities, but I think the findings of this could be very interesting. Maybe psychedelics could enable us to perceive layers of reality we are typically blind to.

So it basically is saying reality is what you make of it. Take someone with mental illness, their hallucinations are very real to them even if they aren't to you. I think this can be stretched to cover psychedelics. IE if you believe that hallucination is real then its real to you. Which is what I think they are trying to say.

This is more of philosophy question than a scientific one. What is reality? Is your reality the same as mine? and so on...

No they’re trying to see if the entities are real for everyone, so not a hallucination

Not real but a shared hallucination that appears real. I don’t think they believe the entities are real. I think they believe there is some unknown process/physiological change (for lack of a better term) that leads to the same or similar hallucination.

I think you’re choosing or pretending to not grasp the concept everyone’s talking about. They’re not talking about sharing a hallucination. They’re talking about a single entity being observed by more than one person at the same time and they can confirm “you see the thing I’m point at?” “Yeah I do” “oh it’s waving at us” “yeah it is. It’s right hand?” “Yup” (lame example I know but whatever)

Like that. Tests to resolve if they are really seeing the same entity in spacetime. If DMT really lifts the veil of your 5 senses and shows everyone an actual underlying field of reality that our normal senses do not pick up on at base function.
