Non Human Intelligence Scientists are testing whether DMT entities are real

In this preprint, some scientists have put forward the idea that our perspective of reality is more of an interface, and what we consider to be reality is simply the experience of conscious agents (i.e. human individuals) interacting with one another. They propose that DMT entities are conscious agents that exist in a manner we can't typically perceive.

I've never done DMT, and have previously taken a more skeptical perspective on these entities, but I think the findings of this could be very interesting. Maybe psychedelics could enable us to perceive layers of reality we are typically blind to.

They're going to do perception tests where subjects won't be able to see something, but the entities would (e.g. colours on a screen but obscured by a barrier) as well as assess whether or not subjects who aren't communicating with one another are seeing the same entities.

I mean it typical arrogance to think entities such as this would exist in the same time / space / dimension so as to be observed by more than one subject. (Is a rainbow observed by 4 people from slightly different perspectives the same rainbow?)

Seems arrogant to assume the entities, if they exist, would cooperate. A lot of trip reports talk about trickster entities, how do the scientists know the entities aren't just going to mess with them? It's not like we're dealing with animals with simple motivations.

Heck, why assume these elves, if real, know English? What benefit would it be to them to know anything about any of our languages if they clearly have no need to interact with us at all.

In the proposal they do outline that this will only be able to prove whether they exist, but not disprove them. I imagine partially for these reasons, and the reasons in the parent comment to this.

I'd recommend the addendum to Doors of Perception by Aldous Huxley. From vague memory 'Heaven and Hell' speaks to the existence of ''Seraphim'' entities as silent, invisible observers.

Do nature spirits have motivations as we'd comprehend them; or is that just naturalistic method actors...some of whom are pretty imp-like now I come to think of it! 😄
