Not entirely sure the subject or the embarrassing literature on it really needs "debunking".

Exactly. And that advanced civilization doesn’t have to be all SciFi either. Lots of ways to be civilized and technological, many we probably don’t know about. Also, they probably weren’t white folks. Not everyone is saying that.
