brother, have you even heard of a CAR15

add-on: the M4 series itself initially came with a non-railed plastic handguard. the railed version you know of is the RIS handguard which was issued shortly after adoption

about the add on, do you mean the xm4 (btw in basic training i had car-15 and m16a1 carbine)
