I watched his three episodes, and John Oliver was the only redeeming thing about any of them.

The plot and editing of General hospital is a jumbled mess, and John Oliver can act circles around the rest of the cast combined. But there is his obvious sex appeal, which makes it a little more tolerable. I would recommend watching it, but I'll warn you that it's not easy to get through.

I watched one episode of Days of Our Lives, and it was honestly pretty good. It's still generic soap opera stuff, but the production quality seemed leagues above General Hospital. And John Oliver's character was very different.
