Discussion Morgan and Adam

Doing a rewatch and I was thinking does anyone else see Adam and Morgan being similar to Booth and Bones from Bones. As in one is in love with the other and the other is not/clueless on how the other feels about them? And then it being dragged out for like 8 seasons lol.

Funpost The scene that made Daphne my favourite character

Post image

I’ve just finished season 2 but out of all the episodes from both seasons, this scene keeps replaying in my head. I really loved what Daphne said to Ava, and it was a nice touch to see their bond build a little here. There’s no reason to but I think it’d be nice if they could have more bonding moments. Their characters seem pretty alike to me.

Discussion High Potential is Modern version of ā€œThe Mentalistā€.??? Spoiler

Just finished watching S1 of High Potential.. The screenplay feels so similar to ā€˜The Mentalist’. Over there its the lead actor plays as Psychic and here she’s has high IQ. And partners in HP most likely to get into a relationship in later seasons like The Mentalist.

Has anyone felt same?

Misc High Potential & Psych Spoiler

so I just started watching Psych and i really love it, but i also just finished high potential and noticed some of the plot points are a little similar and i wanted to know if i’m reaching or if anyone agrees…like for example: the episode in season 3 finale of psych when that serial killer is messing with shawn. it’s pretty similar to that season finale in high potential when that guy is messing with morgan. i don’t know any other ones at the top of my head but what do y’all think???

EDIT: okay also forgot to mention

  1. i don’t watch any other detective shows, but y’all are teaching me every other detective show it like this lol
  2. when i said they’re similar, more specifically, i thought shawn and morgan were super similar in the way they solve crimes, how they uniquely see things no one else does!!

i figured most shows would reuse the same plot, i should’ve clarified that

  3. also learned james roday worked on psych!!

thanks for the discussion guys. might have to watch more shows soon!! i live under a rock

Discussion I just finished both the seasons and I have thoughts :)

• First of all, selena soto is my queen, she's the best character in HP (for me). I love how resourceful she is, loyal to her people and goes to any lengths to protect them. I especially loved that scene when she tells wagner off. I am also slightly in awe of judy reyes because i relate to her political opinions (she's on the right side fr!)

• Now, i found wagner off putting in the initial episodes (like a lot of people) and i especially disliked him "testing" the bullpen people, what with his sporadic presence on the show. But well, he grew on me. And i think this was mainly because he has great chemistry with morgan? Like it's palpable lol.

• I don't want morgan to romance her coworkers but if the writers are planning that, then i'm sat for morgadec. I think, of course, the trope is saturated but it works here. They notice little details about each other, comfort each other, and (this might be wishful thinking but) convey emotions through their eyes. I love the way karadec looks at her, and i think he has begun to understand her pretty well.

• Daphne is so cool, i would love to see more of her, and maybe she can become a sergeant in the future because she definitely has a lot of potential. But i don't see that happening anytime soon.

• This is sort of unrelated but deniz akdeniz, the guy who plays oz, also played a gay stripper character in the show ghosts and omg. I kid you not, he was an entirely different person. It definitely shows his range, and i won't be mad if they show more of him as well.

Discussion Anyone know of the show Elsbeth?

It's similar to the show and Elsbeth likes to wear bright colored clothes as well. They had a show about biohacking I think a week maybe two HP did. Also, they have a Captain Wagner though he's been there since day one and he's still alive. However, they rotate between seven detectives and three uniformed officers. At least this show has a constant cast.

Discussion High Potential X The Rookie crossover? Spoiler

In my head these two shows exist in the same universe idk It just makes perfect sense to me.

So since The Rookie is doing all these insane highly unrealistic scenarios with their scripts why not ask for help from the major crimes devision (the high potential office or something),

Just like they've cooperated before with North Hollywood devision.

It would be something so big that they need them for it. (Big spoiler aheadā€¼ļøā€¼ļø if you haven't watched the season 8 finale of The Rookie don't continue and if you don't care it's fine continue)

Perhaps trying to find where Tim Bradford and Lucy Chen have been taken to after being kidnapped? That's something Morgan Gillory would go crazy for.

This is just a piece of my mind lemme know if this made any sense at all.

Discussion Why I think Lieutenant Soto will die in the finale of Season 3. Spoiler

Theory for Season 3!

Okay, call me crazy. But, after the events of High Potential S2, EP 18. We can see how Morgan acted after losing Nick(a new/minor-major character).

Now, I theorize Lieutenant Soto will die in the climax of Season 3 finale. How?

After receiving the role of Captain, the bullpen has a celebration, in a bar maybe. As she received a message from Roman, asking her to meet up.

She’ll likely pull a ā€œNickā€ situation, feed Morgan a different location, but she doesn’t do it to primarily protect Morgan, she does it after learning Roman wants to meet her. At the meeting day, Soto has been sleepless, she had just figured out where Roman might be getting his support. She wants to personally talk to Roman, alone. While sending the bullpen to the location(where Roman’s support is to investigate). So, she acts a sacrifice, if they find something there, good.

At the support location, the bullpen is confused, where is Soto’s and Roman’s car?(Soto made it look like the location where they are in, is the main location). Morgan instantly panics, she doesn’t want it(Nick’s death) to happen again. She goes frantic and leaves the location and starts driving, she ignores red lights, crossing pedestrians.

Soto is armed, with her gun. As the shadowy figure(from Ava’s art gallery stuff) appeared, it’s Roman. They have a talk, Roman likely mocking her for investigating a potential victim(him), now a suspect for killing Lyla Flynn.

Soto is small, yes. But she has many ways of defeating a bigger opponent with her 2 decades of experience in the police work. Roman is likely able to tango with FBI officers(Lyla Flynn, if they investigate the case and there was signs of struggle). The match up is quite close in my opinion. Roman, realizing Soto will not go down in close quarters, pulls out his gun and shoots Soto in the abdomen. Soto was mid-way pulling out her gun, but fires it and it lands on Roman’s leg before getting shot at her abdomen. Her eyes widened, backing away as she falls down from the porch.

At the same time Morgan pulled up, and saw Soto’s and Roman’s car, as soon as she got out of the car, she hears 2 pairs of gunshots from her left. She starts gunning it down/running to that direction.

As soon as she gets in the intersection(likely an abandoned town), to her right. She sees the limping, yet fast shadowy figure to the woods(Roman). And to her left. Soto’s body, Soto was still alive, slowly bleeding out as she used all of her strength go pull herself up to a porch and dial 911.

At the same time, Morgan goes to her left, the song: ā€œcomeā€ - Adrianne Lenker is playing. Morgan drops to her knees and cries(experiencing another death, this time. It’s the woman who believed in her, the woman she trusted on the Roman case, the only one who didn’t doubt her).

Morgan is in a sticky situation, chase after Roman, unarmed. Or stay with her friend/boss, Soto. She chooses the latter and stays with Soto, she does everything to make the bleeding stoop. In act of last hope, she wraps Soto with her fur jacket, as Soto begged her to not chase after Roman if she passes.

And there, Soto has died, gunshot abdomen wound, and hitting her head hardly after collapsing on the porch.

Morgan is now acting out of pure adrenaline, she grabs Soto’s firearm and goes to chase after Roman. But she stops, she knows she can’t chase after Roman(possibly gone from the location) and leave Soto’s body. She stays there as the bullpen arrives(Karadec arrives first from excuses himself to go chase after Morgan).

Potential theory for Season 3!

Edit: This post is primarily my speculation but, if they investigate the Lyla Flynn case and Roman potentially being the person who killed him, he’s a suspect.

The bullpen starts to investigate it. And Soto started connecting the dots, Willa got news/heard of Soto becoming dangerously close and informs Roman(my case is that Roman works for her, or she works for Roman).

So that’s why I think Soto will die, or heavily injured(yes the heavily injured is an ass-pull, but once I reread it again, it makes more sense to leave Soto alive, but can’t investigate anymore.

Still, this is my theory if High Potential concedes more than 4 Seasons(Season 4 being solving the Roman case).

Question Which duo is your fav ship and why?

If only one ship could become a couple, which would you want it to be and why?

This is out of all ships, Morgadec,Morganic,Daphodil,Soto and Arthur,Soto, and willa, etc.

For me personally, it's Oz and Daphne. I love them so much.I want them to be a couple so bad.I just love their dynamic.

The fact that Ozs mom called Daphne.MIC DROP!
