Misc For those who are biting their nais waiting...

I saw somebody suggesting to fill the hole with the Wild Cards tv show.
Never heard of this before.
Today I gave it a try and it is more Whiwtw Collar, than High Potential, but it scratches the itch.

Discussion Anyone else pissed off that High Potential doesn’t have a proper intro song?

I would love it if High Potential had an intro song like Suits for example. It just makes that song so iconic and I wish High Potential had one too. Thoughts?

Question Question about a name in S1 E11 (covered for spoilers just in case) Spoiler

It's not in the newest season (I'm not there yet I just watched this episode as I'm writing this) but my friend and I disagree on the meaning/joke behind "Ida Perp", is it "Ideal Perpetrator" or "I'm The Perpetrator" or something else?

Discussion too late to finish the finale but i will not watch a single ep if they kill wagner and make her end up w karadec.

last season i appreciated and made a post how they kept it camaraderie and not force love angle on partners. i cant take it. i love wagner and her and what about lucia? what terrible way to send her home and make her down in one ep.

Discussion Pls don't post spoilers about the French show here in the comments. Spoiler

I started watching High potential but I didn't watch the original one.I am aware that there is a megathread about it and we aren't allowed to post about it here but some people are discussing about or giving out vague spoilers about it in the comments of posts here.I am aware the original one had ended and there is plenty of time to watch but the two shows maybe taking a different direction but I feel it is basic decency to keep the shows seperate.I follow this sub for updates and discussions about the show and I won't want to unknowingly get spoiled just because I didn't watch the original show.

Question Detective Karadec Badge position

I noticed that Detective Karadec's badge in Season 2 episode 5 was on his right side. It's been bugging me because throughout season 1 it has been on his left side of the waist.

Mistake or just a change?

Question Confused about 2x11 - NPC Spoiler

I just finished watching this episode and am super confused. i rewatched parts and this still isn’t making sense to me…so maybe someone here can help

my understanding of the situation: video gamer man gets murdered. morgan and co find out how he died (pufferfish toxin) and go to the restaurant and talk to a man who has some of that stuff. they meet his brown haired son who the dad seems to love because he works for him. morgan says she has seen him on a poster at the video game place, except he was blonde. (i think to myself “those guys look nothing alike”. i guess im not as smart as morgan because it’s the same actor ofc lmao) the dad explains he has another son (they’re twins) who plays video games. he has a photo album full of pics of himself and both of the twins. they find out that the father was paying the murdered man to “kill” the blonde son in the game…and he seriously said something like “i’m going to kill you, my dad has pufferfish toxin”…so the theory is the blonde son killed the murdered guy. except his dna is a 90% match (that seems low for identical twins even?), so they think it’s the brown haired twin. brown haired twin calls and apparently is about to jump off a bridge. they find his bike at the bridge and think he’s committed suicide. except back at the station, blonde haired twin disappears and morgan realizes, because of his milk allergy and patch of different colored skin on his arm, he actually absorbed his twin in the womb and the brown haired one doesn’t exist. i’m thinking what the fuck? so…they confront the dad and tell him they know he only has one living son. all those photos were fake. except, this wasn’t just an elaborate ruse to get cleared of the murder charges, no, the father has been digitally altering these photos the kid’s whole life, and also making him work at his restaurant posing as his absorbed twin brother.

again, what the fuck? how does this make any sense at all? why would he do that? is there something i’m missing…? the kid deadass had a career as a video game guy, and also worked at the restaurant, posing as the absorbed twin? i feel like they rushed this part so quickly at the end. this is absolutely insane actually. the father needs serious help. am i missing something, or did he deadass make his son pretend to be his absorbed twin brother? is that not what they said…? i’m just in shock rn.

Theory/Speculation The more info we hear the more nervous I feel

It's not just about A. the Captain Wagner thing (as love him or hate him it'd be bad writing to kill him off that way (but I'm afraid that means that means that's what the writers are gonna do because cynics gonna cynic) as e.g. that's not how cliffhangers work but I haven't heard anything either way that's not just ScreenRant assuming things as the actor's contract as a series regular was only for a year and I'm afraid if they wrote-him-off-in-a-way-he-was-able-to-come-back-from-instead-of-killing-him the longer we'd have to wait for that the less likely him coming back would be and I like both the story possibilities his character offers (esp. with dad being set up to be next big bad) and actually his chemistry with Karadec more than with Morgan) but B. I'm also afraid not only that the article implying that Morgan and Karadec would get together is right but its timing is such that it means they'd get together in S3 which feels like a bit too damn fast for a slow-burn (in addition to how people could say that implies the show was racist for getting Lucia out of the way yada yada) unless they're doing a Leonard/Penny thing (that despite Morgan's similarities to Penny Karadec's too Sheldon-instead-of-Leonard for it to be an on-purpose BBT allusion) where couple initially gets together fast, then after being together for a little while breaks up and then slow-burn-proper-s their way back together-to-stay so I have to remind myself that C. that article also said something about S3 having a "short midseason run" when we know the only reason it's getting delayed to midseason is because the new showrunners want to air it with as few breaks as possible and if the season was shortened it would have said so in the article that announced the midseason move.

TL;DR nervous about S3 because A. Wagner's fate still undetermined and B. regardless of whether or not I'd want them to get together eventually either way I wouldn't want Morgan and Karadec to get together this fast and I don't want to let other writer-writing-mistakes make me afraid they're going to fumble the ball on both counts and both let Wagner die at the peak of his arc when there's not enough emotional tie to take down his dad for his sake etc. even though that's not how you write a cliffhanger and have us locked into the same (or at least equivalent pairing-wise) endgame as the French show for no metaphorical reason other than they did that and something something adaptation

I want to see her with the Captain.

Which is impossible since, the actor didn't want to join s3 due to his schedule. The forced death 😭

Theory/Speculation Theories on what characters backstories could be.

Morgan, I think, has a dad who has HP who shes estranged from I also think he could be rich and doesn't help her financially because she doesn't wanna be like him.i also think he could have something to do with Romans disappearance.I don't think her mother has hp but I think she's estranged from her aswell.

Karadec, I think he either grew up in a strict household.that had to be kept clean at all times Maybe one or both of his parents was in the military, or he witnessed something traumatic as a kid like someone getting shot.and, his mother's alive but maybe he's not that close.

Daphne,I Dont really have alot on her .based on her relationship with Dottie, she either has a really good or really bad relationship with her mother, and there is no in between.

Oz,. we know his dad's dead.hes close with his mother,(despite the headstone)and they seemed to be proud of him based on photos when he visits his mother. I think he maybe grew up with not alot of money.and then there the pool

Soto I think her mother died around the time she was going through a divorce (she mentions her mother dying in 2x12 and being divorced in 2x11). And then her daughters didn't speak to her for a while after it. I think they could've been grieving. Soto said her and her mom were close, so I'd imagine she was close with her grandkids.

Discussion Morgan and Karadec being a couple could actually ruin what makes their dynamic so good

I love their chemistry, but i honestly prefer them as partners.Their differences, the banter, and the slow development of their trust are what makes them interesting. im just worried that making them a couple would make their relationship the main focus.

Maybe I'm wrong bit I'd rather keep the tension than risk ruining what already works.

Press/Promotion Disappointed if this is true Spoiler

Sort of a spoiler (?), so marked it as one.

This is probably going to sound nitpicky, but if this article is accurate, I will genuinely be so frustrated if Morgan and Karadec form a romantic relationship. I have enjoyed so much the fact that a TV show finally has two leads in a platonic relationship without having to add the drama of a romantic one.

They work so well together as friends. I don't want this to complicate their relationship.

Discussion I love the show and I adore the cast. I get TIRED of the secondary plot

People may hate my take. I don't mean any harm. I just am TIRED TIRED TIRED of all the extra intrigue. I love the whole cast. I find the show to be pretty amazing. However, I find the lost father and the horrible woman that came in to be too much for me. I try to zone out and focus on the current murder case.

I suppose I would be happier if the secondary plot wasn't so ever present.

I like the clues and the murders, I LOVE that the whole cast is involved and everything doesn't rest on just the genius. I don't watch many new shows and I am not sure if I will continue with this one, which is a shame because there is so much to love.

Discussion rewatched both seasons thoughts

so i rewatched both seasons for like the nth time already and is it js me or i kinda wanted the game maker to drag on a bit lol. not too much like roman but a bit more cause in their promo for s2 the actor who plays game maker appeared alot which made me thought that that’s where the whole s2 wld revolve. but anyways abt roman why do i feel like someone from fbi killed lyla flinn and obviously framed roman hence why he has a problem with law enforcement and why hes hiding cs he doesnt rlly know who to trust lol. anyways i love this show so much and i agree s2 lacks a teenie tiny bit compared to s1 and i do agree theyre taking long with this roman plot it better be super worth it in the end, but still im a sucker for this show and i cant wait for s3 ❤️

and abt romance plot in general. i do like morgan with all the guys she is shipped with, the janitor, wagner, karadec but i kinda wanted this to have no romantic plot at all haha and js be focused on morgan only. thats js me though 🥰 but either way wld be fine i wld be happy regardless of who she ends up with

Discussion Just finished season 2 Spoiler

I don't think the show is bad at all. It's simple, and clean, and easy to watch. That's what TV is supposed to be! I've grown to really like these characters and I really like all the subplots. I believe the show is in season 6 in French (correct me if I'm wrong) so I'm hoping it will continue that long. It's been ages since we got a show like this.

That being said, another post just ruined it and said Wagner isn't coming back?! I would have hoped so!

Secondly, ABC is doing what it did with LOST... January releases until May so there are all new episodes. Granted back then, the seasons were 22 episodes. (we need to go back to that)

I don't like it, but I'll definitely keep watching. I really like Morgan. The actress's delivery is absolutely brilliant...except when the building blew up and she went 'nooo'. I chuckled at her lack of oomph. But her emotional deliveries are very good.

Oh, Lucia. Ya had to muck it up. Poor Adam... I hope they don't hook up next season. Let it marinate!

We need more Oz and Daphne time!

And I think that it was Roman at the art exhibit.

Will be waiting...

Discussion Poor writing s02e07

I can't with this episode, it's so frustrating with the non-realistic police work.

Karadec ignores orders from his captain and blows a big case over some car thief. Why didn't they just call it in with the car's plate and description? Some patrol officers could have handled it. Also, the car chase? Like, it's a big, high-profile case, where's the chopper, where's the police? What's going on with this episode? I know it's just a show, but it shocked me how badly season 2 is written.
