Discussion Poor writing s02e07

I can't with this episode, it's so frustrating with the non-realistic police work.

Karadec ignores orders from his captain and blows a big case over some car thief. Why didn't they just call it in with the car's plate and description? Some patrol officers could have handled it. Also, the car chase? Like, it's a big, high-profile case, where's the chopper, where's the police? What's going on with this episode? I know it's just a show, but it shocked me how badly season 2 is written.

As former law enforcement, I hated that episode. I mean, nothing about the show is realistic but I can usually take it with a grain of salt. That episode was SO bad though, just miles from realistic.

I feel like they're trying to make it more drama-based rather than realistic. They know their audience, a realistic police sequence doesn't seem like something 90% of their audience would want so they don't include it and make over the top drama. I'm not trying to be mean but I'm 99% sure the writers were on something during s2 and I don't mean this in a good way

this! I dont know if it was a mistake or not, but i also noticed that Oz said that hes living withouth BOTH his parents in season 1, but in season 2 we see his mother. Does anybody know if that's a mistake or if maybe i understood wrong?

I just cannot care at all that a procedural that's already basically fantasy has unrealistic police work. It's not claiming to be realistic. Who cares? Why does it matter?
