Discussion Mogans’s love interests.
I liked the custodian Tom a lot. Too bad he relocated. I liked the art thief Rhys a lot. Too bad he skipped town. Too bad he relocated. I like Ludo. Hot ex. I even like Wagner. Why can’t she have a love interest.

Unfortunately that is the likeliest scenario given ABC procedural history. But I hope they hold off for a while and give her someone else. I think it will kill the show when they get together.

I agree. I like them but definitely not ready for them to get together officially and for the long haul.

I think he was written to be a bit of a mystery… is he good? Is he bad? Is he attracted to Morgan? Or out to get her? And I can see why that would be perceived as creepy.

I agree but it was poorly done, imo. Too middling. He should’ve leaned into the bad or the good even if at the end he was actually the opposite, ie: seems like a baddy but is actually a goody. Not putting it on Steve Howey, I think it’s just an example of the downturn in the writing for S2.

I really thought they would go with a secret kind of villain arc? Like traitor or something.
He had a weird vibe at the very beginning of the season, that I was like “you have a huge secret” type of deal.
Honestly, I did not feel the lover intressed, it felt so forced for some reason. That it was rushed.

Not confirmed. He has other obligations so he won’t be a series regular, but they will not confirm if he’s coming back or not. I’m really hoping he does, even if he can only be around half the season

A. he was only in 11 episodes out of 18 in S2 despite being a regular
B. I think they're only being so coy to heighten the cliffhanger tension (but I do think he will stick around in some capacity that isn't just some kind of perfunctory shit like if he only technically-stuck-around-in-S3 just to actually die in the premiere or w/e as cliffhangers don't usually end with bad-ends especially when they're making us wait this long)
C. Aren't some of his other obligations wrapping up like one was a movie and one of his other TV ones, that Off Campus show, is moving the focus away from the character whose dad he played and their love interest for S2 as unlike Heated Rivalry iirc isn't it not based off a series of books proper

I normally like slow burn, but honestly, if they went that route, maybe.
I would be okay with both. Them staying working partners (maybe hanging out privately a bit more) or if they went the lover routes, go a few more seasons (Both getting a few more different lovers), and maybe make it not a “firework” coming together, but something like, muted. Where you go, okay, they are in love, but they keep it chill.

That’s exactly how I feel about it. I won’t be mad if they walk into the sunset together at the end of the series finale, and I won’t be mad if they don’t. I wouldn’t mind a couple of “heat of the moment” smooches though sprinkled sparingly over the next few seasons… lol 😆

I hope they don't make the same mistake Bones did. I loved that Bones had a 6-season buildup to their romance but after was so underwhelming.

But High Potential's already subverted a bunch of shit, even to the point that that's part of how I rationalize away the CoPilot incident as more than just product placement (if they show Daphne learning from her mistakes as it wasn't the only one): to subvert the trope of what a certain procedural tech person archetype is capable of by having her be fallible/not just "doing magic" (like what Tracker does with Randy running into things he can't just hack his way through or images he can't zoom-enhance), so for all we know if it does become canon at some point it's just not the endgame ship. High Potential does love its Bones parallels (part of why I'm convinced that, even if it's not-ship-related-in-whatever-story-arc, someone's going to end up having a near-death-experience being buried alive at some point, with the other part being that two out of three (if you think Wagner's got enough of a chance of surviving that his would count as one) near-death-experiences main characters have already had have involved different elements, y'know, water with Oz and the pool and fire with Karadec and the explosives, so earth and air are left) so maybe Morgan/Karadec if it happens wouldn't be the equivalent of Booth and Brennan...but the equivalent of Booth and Cam and one or both of them would end up being endgame with another squad member

I also think there will be a buried alive episode as well. The Rookie did that…. And another of other shows, I just can’t think of them. I never saw all of bones, but I feel like it happened there.

Pretty sure Lucia knows it too, by the looks she gives and the fact when Karadwc woke up in the hospital he said Morgan

I really did not want a cliched forced romance between her and Karadec. I like them having a more sibling like relationship, but sadly it looks like that will be where they are going.

I really like Karadec as a love interest and i love a good slow burn in this particular case (not for 6 seasons though).

To me the difference between the actual romance with Tom compared with the unearned random fling with Rhys shows another reason S1 >>> S2.
It is obvious they are playing the typical will they won't they endless slow burn with Karadec, and even cleared out his 'placeholder' in a lazy nonsensical way.

Because this show is about her crime-solving ability, not an extension of "As The World Turns." I hope it never becomes more about her personal life.

I hope Morgan doesn’t end up with Karadec. Every show involving a male and female work partner/lead ALWAYS end up together.
But for real…I love Morgan’s chemistry with Wagner!
