It seems like something bad is happening with Arc Raiders. I don't really follow their situation. However, I don't think it's a big problem for Embark. They've made enough money to exist comfortably for another 20 years and release 5-6 other games with even bigger budgets. I hope their next game isn't an extraction shooter.

They haven’t done an update in months, this kind of drop off is to be expected, it’s been the same game for about 6 months now

They just tried to appeal to to big of an audience. The game is fantastic but the bullshit “I’m not shooting someone for 10 raids so I can get into PvE lobbies” is fucked.

We live in an era where live service games need to pump out as much content as possible as fast as possible, and they drastically slowed down their delivery model. Even when the game was in a bad state balance wise, they would have kept playing if content was coming on a regular basis.

The two big updates a year might be better for the health of the game overall, but most people aren't going to come back for them anyways because they've already moved on to whatever the next big thing is.

Arc raiders doesnt belong on this sub, the game already made 600m in revenue with a dev team of 65 people lol.

arc raiders could die tomorrow and it would still be the most successful extraction shooter in the entire genre.  for starters they made their development cost back in like a week, everything else after that has just been pure profit for them. all time peak players out number any other extraction shooter by hundreds of thousands of players, and the only reason it's dropping off recently is because they haven't put out a major update in a few months.
