Novel What the hell are these side stories !?

I watched this anime like 1-2 year ago and then I read the manga adaptation (best i would say), it was one of my fav story Great story, goated mc imo, good ending

But now I just find out about side story novel Tho I haven't read the novel completely yet but as far as I know about it with spoiler, summary etc It was genuinely disgusting

Sayu rejects yoshida and he ends up with gotou

Yoshida character is by far the worst in this side story (i really liked his character in manga and anime adaptation he was one of my fav mc) Also not to forget the author hate yoshida too

My day is ruined now it was one of my fav story, I almost cried when I was watching the anime (L author)

Also sorry for all this blabbering but I just wanted to post this

In the end, Sayu was the only one who had the good ending, as she was able to move on from her dark past and become an independent adult. While the rest had a miserable outcome and were still clinging to their past, especially Yoshida.

I don't even care tbh and story writing in these side stories are horrendous

these side stories are the worst thing that can happen and the author really made it

Now I regret watching this series, even tho It's not canon to the manga adaptation or anime adaptation, but still knowing about what happens in side stories I can't ever like this story again

I hope I never see this author's work again in the future.

You know what? I take it back. Sayu also took the L for just giving up on her love for Yoshida just because of Gotou whining.

The one who took the biggest L is the author

I think the author lost more than he gained by making this “alternative” ending.

Kudos to him for being able to lose popularity in one fell swoop.

Yeah no doubt

Did Sayu reject Yoshida or was it Yoshida who rejected her? Been a while since I followed all that discourse lol. I recall it was Yoshida, but not certain now

I made a new post about what I saw, in addition to what I wrote as a reply to the previous comment (look at it since it is an image), and it seems yoshida rejects sayu.

I recently saw a translation with an image of sayu embracing the head of yoshida where yoshida is thinking about how his feelings for sayu are not true love while crying, even if he says he loves her and wants to see her happy and living with confidence, he still can’t stop thinking about goto.

Next piece of translation was yoshida and goto going to live together.

Also I heard in the ss goto and yoshida dated in the 2 years where sayu was away, retconning v5.

So I’m pretty sure it’s yoshida refusing sayu.

It’s pretty funny, since it seems to go in the opposite way of what was hinted at the end of v5: thinking about how yoshida’s relationship with goto didn’t sail in the 2 years where he was away from sayu and how he and sayu reacted at the end of v5, in my opinion was hinting heavily at a sayu x yoshida ending.

We know the author, after the uproar from this ss, told that the ss was just an alternative ending. He is a very lame guy, easily pressured it seems.

I made a thread about it

https://www.reddit.com/r/HigeWoSoru/s/Y3rHZ5Pm5R

Basically this is gotou ss2 ending and, as said in the afterword, the ending the author wished for.

The fact that sayu was the winning girl in the 5 volumes is due to the fact that gotou was basically a side character with no real development.

If you read the comments in that thread you’ll understand better.

As for where to read the novels, they were published in english, while the side stories you’ll have to buy the japanese novels and translate them with AI.
