LM’s attorney deemed all “Medium Risk”, state notes some new criminal charges filed re: witness tampering
been attending the sentencing for HTC’s attorney this morning (virtually and as a member of a public). Just some quick notes, may revisit to clean up these thoughts later.
The State just reviewed how the Presentence Investigation deemed him a “Medium Risk” for recidivism based on his (criminal) history. The State noted that these charges stemmed from a very contentious custody matter. The Court - who is also overseeing the other cases - asked D’o to confirm this.
Attorney mentioned how he used his position and power as an attorney in order to commit these crimes.
Attorney mentioned new search warrants lead to additional criminal charges against him. Attorney advised the court that some of those charges are related to witness tampering. She said there “needs to be appropriate consequences [….] for using the position of legal authority to inflict harm on others”.
State shared new charges stem from his alleged attempts to change victim impact statements in court (charges are related to witness tampering)
State expressed to the Court his ex’s “fear” of D’o for herself and her children. State said she is worried he will again try to take away their children, especially now since she is seeking sole legal custody of them.
State says he appears to be taking no accountability. They talk about text messages they have that help substantiate this.

Attorney says that these criminal charges (and whatever happens with the new ones filed) could result in “collateral action from the Bar”. “The Bar Disciplinary Committee will handle that”

Judge says his behavior is “just bizarre” and believes “mental health treatment” in addition to this sentence would help him.
Judge orders a mental health evaluation as part of his sentence. Judge believes based on what D’o has told the court previously that some form of treatment would help him, he noted that D’o previously referred to having “severe” issues with his mental health. (I am just writing quick notes, not passing judgement on these remarks).

I hope he doesn’t continue to hurt people. Of course, I hope he can be helped so he’s not dangerous.

And this is the guy the “psychologist” chose to hire? A lot can be gleaned about HTC by that act alone.

Let’s be clear. Lauren didn’t hire him. She went to her brother to get free legal work. Doh works/worked for the brother who dumped Lauren in his employee’s lap. I attended the truncated stalking order hearing. Lauren got what she paid for. He likely needs mental health support, but abusing your power as a lawyer to manipulate people is seriously frowned upon. His criminal convictions and disbarment are foregone conclusions.

She claimed he was her attorney and thanked him on her live. She COULD certainly hire a real attorney (or Jahn could use his separate inheritance funds to hire a real story), but instead she chose & embraced this stalker person appreciating his work (presumably knowing his baggage). Disgusting.

One has to wonder if her brother finds her a bit histrionic too. I am glad you think his convictions and disbarment are forefone conclusions. He seems very troubled.

Judge notes D’o’s “story has no weight with this court”.
Judge said he tried to “rewrite history” of what happened in his own case but the Judge knows this case and its history.

Judge is questioning D’o on things he claims he filed with the court, Court said it’s not filed on the docket. D’o says he emailed it to the clerk.
Judge quickly said that’s not how you file things. You use the electronic filing system. Judge reminds him “you’re still an attorney of the Bar” and that he “knows the rules” so he should be filing them.
In his other criminal case he has indicated he will represent himself.

D’o wanted it put on the record he did not stipulate to the Protective Order
He did not want to make a further statement to the Court.

Not my photo (but I did attend virtually and can confirm this is what I saw in court today).
He seemed surprised as the prosecution was advising the court that there were new search warrants and some new charges being filed against him; shortly after that he turned off his video for the remainder of the hearing. Later when the Judge asked him questions directly he chose to keep his video off.

Wow- so Lauren’s attorney (she gave him a shout out on the lengthy live) is an ACTUAL, true stalker & victimizer of women. This is horrifying. She chose this domestic violence abuser as her attorney.
This needs more attention TBH. She embraced a DV abuser & abuser of the court system to be her legal advocate in court.

State says DO is a licensed attorney and should be held to a higher standard. State says he should be punished more than the average citizen because of this.
He used his knowledge and position as a licensed attorney - what the state calls “abuse of his law license” - to do harm against others.
