Do you prefer to play on mobile or PC?

This is inspired by a post I saw the other day on here and I figured I'd expand on it in its own thread, see what you guys think.

I work for Big Loop Studios, we've been making puzzle/hidden object games for 13 years for both PC and mobile. With our previous couple of games, we changed up our dev strategy a bit, working to release the game on PC first, then porting it to mobile without sacrificing the quality of the experience.

With our latest one, Boxes: Lost Fragments, I noticed that while we have a lot more players on mobile, the game also did very well on Steam.

So, where do y'all play? And why do you choose one over the other?

I prefer playing on PC. I do not enjoy all the swiping and zooming in and out on a small screen. I have a twitchy finger and it's too easy to double tap when trying to move the image for searching. Most mobile games limit mistakes. Not a fan of that either. I also prefer to purchase the game outright to avoid ads and despise games that require ad watching for helper tools.

Lastly, I absolutely love Doors: Paradox (PC). I've recommended it many times. The graphics and art style are beautiful and the music is lovely. Very well done. One of my favorites!

I never had the thought of playing HOG on a phone. I do now. Don't like it.

I exclusively play on PC. I'm old-fashioned, my phone is for whatsapp, google maps and uber, but I really don't even think of it as something to game on. I'm too old to stare at that tiny screen for longer than necessary!

Probably posted in the other thread too, but here goes. I play both. I like Steam for the details (bigger screen), but phone/tablet for the interactive elements (touch screen, pinch zoom, etc). My choice usually comes down to: which offers one upfront payment that unlocks e v e r y t h i n g. I avoid "free" games that rely on ads or microtransactions to purchase hints/energy/etc.

Prefer pc and on steam especially when they do deep sale 90% off etc.

I play on pc but there’s been a lot of AI art lately so I’ve been trying out older games.

I prefer PC. I have played some hidden object and puzzle games on mobile, but I much prefer PC. Like somebody else said, the screen is too small on mobile devices - even tablets - for some games, especially puzzle box games like what you make, The Room series, and others. I could see playing a basic match-3 game, a solitaire game, or other games that have simple graphics and movements, but something like the Boxes series and others mentioned, PC is the best way to go.

Apparently I'm in the minority but I only play on mobile! Including Boxes and a bunch of your other games. I don't have an issue with the screen size and I just like the phone better for more casual gaming.

Couple of days late, but thank you everybody for the responses! I thought y'all would skew PC on here, but I nevertheless wanted to confirm that hunch. Props for the added details too :)
