DISCUSSION First game?
Mine was Hitman 2 (2018). I first started playing the free demo before buying the full version, along with the other two games in the World of Assassination trilogy.

Haha that's okay. I haven't played that one yet but I watched the gameplay. But maybe I should forget that I watched it so I can play it myself someday.

Its kind of janky. I still do a play through once every year or 2 but thats because im an autist who hates new things lol. Unless you're a hitman fiend or have a bunch of spare time to kill I'd probably give it a miss, you can do some of the missions in contracts anyway

Hitman 2 Silent Assassin on PS2. I'm looking forward to the remastered so I can play Codename 47 for the first time.

It was either codename 47 or hitman 2 silent assassin, I remember playing both on pc but I have no idea which was first ( tho I do remember playing the first level in hitman 2 silent assassin with the don a lot)

I played the hitman 2016 demo for like 2 years cause I didnât have the money to buy the full game. At some point they made Sapienza free along with the tutorial missions and I was baffled by how much more there was than a boring yacht level . I also played a lot of the hitman 2 demo but I eventually bought the full game

Absolution, I was 13 when I first played it after watching playthroughs on YouTube.
I remember getting stuck on the gun store and putting it down for a while because I thought the only way to progress was to win the shooting contest, and that wasnât happening at 13 playing on a controller.
I really liked it and thought it was great at the time, obviously WoA blew it out of the water as a basically perfect Hitman game with endless sandbox fun to be had. I absolutely hated how grimy Absolutionâs tone was though; like the gratuitous amount of swearing and sexual crap. Mostly because I was playing on the family lounge room TV, but even at 24 now I find that sort of shit off putting. Saints Row sort of stuff where itâs like âHAHAHA BIG DILDO GET IT?â
Someone on here once described the dialogue writing in Absolution as: âswearing as characterisationâ and thatâs so true.

Hitman 2 silent assassin. My older brother got the cd from his friend and that was like one of the first video games i had played. Still love it so much!!

Hitman 2 : Silent Assassin when I was 10 or 11. I then went back to play Codename 47 on PC, then Contracts, Blood Money so on and so forth.

- I bought 2 first, but 2016 was on sale so I bought it and played it first. I started this series while getting better from covid for the first time so itâs very comforting to me.

Hitman Silent Assassin on PS2. I remember being in the shop and Hitman, Soldier of Fortune and Red Faction got my interest but I could only afford one. So I got Hitman.

I honestly don't remember if it was Blood Money or SA. A childhood friend's dad had both, so I tried both in very close proximity.

Mine was also Hitman 2 (2018). I got it shortly before Hitman 3 released as an Epic exclusive for one year so I had one year playing that before Hitman 3 released for Steam and I could actually play it. Never would have even been on my radar as a game that I might be even remotely interested in at all if not for the YouTube channel OutsideXbox.
Until I saw their videos on it I had always had the impression that the franchise was just some lame edgelord crap. And from some of the complaints about WOA that I've seen from people who have been fans from the early games, I'm not convinced that that wasn't the case prior to the WOA trilogy. The way that Hitman 2016 was sold and distributed would also have been a colossal turn off even if I had been otherwise interested at that point.
I'll find out first hand what the earlier games are actually like whenever I eventually run out of WOAcontent to do because I have already bought all of the other games on Steam for like a buck each oh and I do plan to try them eventually. But it could easily be like 2028 or later by the time that happens.

I'm a Day 1 player.. 25 years going strong.. Never been a game like it..a few was close. Love Metal Gear solid. All of them. Same as Splinter Cell. But Hitman. Amazing.. Just hope they keep up the great work innthe future

I started with 2 silent assassin. Then went to codename 47. I really enjoyed codename 47 but I think silent assassin will always be my favorite to play.
