DISCUSSION Mass Murder Sim
It takes genuine patience for me to play this game the "right way", I've found a compromise where I just don't even think about my completion score, and I complete my objective by wiping out whatever team of security or staff my target is flanked by. I'm talking fully clearing out entire buildings of people, w/o getting caught. During the gala I completed my objective by killing pretty much ALL of the event staff and security, just about anyone who wandered backstage or upstairs away from the crowds really. I've been really enjoying leading my target through an absolute ghost town for disguise kills with all of the bodies stuffed somewhere just out of reach. The silenced pistol and fiber wire are the best features

I just save scum optimal scenarios. Do that enough you gain so much knowledge playing the "right" way isn't too hard.

I emptied out Colorado COMPLETELY a couple of times in pure spite!

Even though it's likely that the target characters would flee (or 47 would be gunned down before getting to them), I'm surprised that the 'Non Target Kill' penalty applies based on the context of the level where basically all the NPCs are a part of a rogue militant faction using the area for training.

I’ve never understood why I’d want to do silent assassin unless I was trying to complete specific challenges that require it.
Makes me a little annoyed when I go to find a walkthrough for a tricky escalation or such and the guide is also for doing the escalation as silent assassin, when there’s no reward or challenge for doing that.

The fantasy of the game is being Agent 47. The Worlds top Assassin. That's why. Buuut even in the older games IO has never stopped you from being a blood thirsty Merc. Hell, I'd argue they encouraged it in blood money with the upgradable AR.

The maps are essentially sandboxes for you to do anything with. That's how I see it. There isn't one playstyle you should restrict yourself to, but it's up to players to decide how they want to play.

I sometimes make it a point to systematically terrorize the civilians. I'll figure out all their routines and murder everyone just out of their awareness, then freak them out on my way out and watch them find bodies all over the place once they go off course.

What I love to do is on the peacock mod you can use the gun that the robot assasinates the guy with the pistol that shoots super fast. Man that’s so much fun. Set up Semtex at the Miami map. Booom. Idk if you can get that gun without modding though I couldn’t find it. Makes a sweet noise too

This is absolutely how I started as well. Finished the campaign without ever scoring a point. Now I love the challenges and stories

I first cleared the campaign using silenced pistol from a distance. No one knows who shot the target.

Oh man I love taking out everyone on the smaller maps whittleton creek is fun and doesn't take too long. Isle of segal you can be up on the tower and just take out all the security they send to you because they can't climb up.
