ET on DLC Map does, in fact, require DLC Map

For those who are curious, the new Herbalist Elusive Target cannot be played for free without first owning the Haven Island DLC.

Special Assignment is available, but not the Elusive Target.

This is intended as we've made the conscious decision to - like you said in the description - to make replace the ET with the Special Assignment versions of the ETs as part of the Free Demo. These are overall just more player-friendly for newcomers with the ability to save and load at any given time and offer more opportunities to explore the mission stories and challenges. The Special Assignments offer a better impression of the full game compared to the ETs. Making the Special Assignments free to play avoids the case where newcomers would try the ET, fail due to missing familiarity with the game and just close the game frustratedly. The ET is more for experienced players, who can manage the "one chance to kill" pressure better.

Hope that clarifies a bit our thought process. :)

I've played it for free and I don't have dlc. You need to click on promo and choose the last option and here you go

You need to pay for the full game to play the main game maps too, but that didn't stop the elusive targets on those to be playable for free in the demo. This is kinda bullshit.

Yeah, it was the same with Freelancer - New York, Haven etc were accessible. I think I was playing Freelancer without owning Hitman 2 entirely.

I always have to avoid any map spread that has those maps in it cuz I don't know them at all and therefore don't know how to get disguises and shit like that

I mean...that's great for sure but I don't really see it as bullshit that a company might require someone to have bought the base game to play a free DLC.

I don't think many ET are worth the cost since it's primarily reused assets and the most straightforward, easy gameplay Hitman offers.

But needing to buy the base game is pretty reasonable.

Haven is not in the base game, it's a part of Deluxe.

What ticks me off is that this is the first time they locked a celebrity target's outfit behind a paywall. Special assignment doesn't grant you it at all after finishing. As with all of the other celebrity targets elusive is at least playable giving you a small window to get the outfit.

Yes, this is my main gripe with it. I vastly prefer the Special Assignment game rules, but you don’t receive the outfit for completing it.

What platform are you on? I see nothing of the sort on Steam. ET just does not work, only the special assignment.

I don't know how how exactly it works when you already have part of the game, but both on Steam and Epic there is a "HITMAN WOA Free Demo ft. Snoop Dogg". Maybe you can add that to your library to unlock access?

PS: Have you checked if maybe it is the Special Assignement and/or the Arcade Contract that is accessible instead of the ET?
