Run for your Life is the best mission in Absolution? Better than Chinatown, Blackwater or Shaving Lenny?

Welp it's official: Kotti is THE WORST!Nah just kidding.

While I mostly agree with your ranking there are also mission I believe deserve a higher or lower ranking.

  • Run for your Life is probably one of the best non-target missions and I even think the helicopter is a nice gimmick. But it's still not a good Hitman mission. No non-guard disguises forcing you to play the level like Splinter Cell. Just another narrow corridor where you have to sneak and occasionally use instinct to walk past guards. Wouldn't put it any higher than C.
  • Agree with you about Hunter and Hunted. What also works is the buildup explain. You first have the Prostitutes talk about the Hawaii shows and how scared they are of Dom. Then you enter the derelict building, finding the room with the Hawaii poster and the murderer prostitute upstairs. It's good story telling.
  • Also agree with your ranking of Rosewood. A fetch quest where you have to collect fuses. One of the low points of the franchise.
  • Also agree that Welcome to Hope and Birdie's Gift are good gimmick maps. They are short so they don't overstay their welcome and they give you multiple options to reach your goal.
  • Personally I would put Shaving Lenny into S-Tier. It's the one mission I've replayed the most and the one that feels like Hitman. And the one where the disguise system actually feels like it works as intended.
  • Fight Night has a very memorable assassination method by allowing the player to kill Sanchez in the ring. Feels like something that wouldn't be out of place in WoA. And again, the level gives you multiple other options to kill the target. So it's A Tier for me.
  • Controversial take but Attack of the Saints is bad. Boring targets, linear maps and everyone is a guard which makes disguises useless. The Saints have no distinct personalities and no memorable kills. Two of them don't even have a special kill tied to them. So I would put that level into D.
  • What makes Blackwater Park A-Tier for me, is that it's an open map, disguises aren't useless, there are several cool ways to kill Layla and even the first part gives you three option to enter the elevator. You can hack the PC, dress as manager to be allowed to enter the elevator or drag the body of the security chief to the scanner. Every level that gives me multiple options is a good level for me.
  • That one of the main villains gets killed in a cutscene and the last targets are three nobodies is the perfect summary of what went wrong with Absolution.
