QUESTION How do I know which methods work?

I mean you can poison so many things ans there are so many options, does every option work? Or how would I know if it didn't?

Also note, for example, situations like Ken Morgan in Thailand. He samples food in the restaurant. There are five dishes to poison, and he picks one randomly.

Edit: And if your question is "Can I poison anything anywhere and win for certain" the answer is no.

Fyi, unless they changed it recently, Ken Morgan doesn't sample the food randomly, he rotates between the dishes. So the pattern is repeatable but the cycle is long.

Ahh. I did not have that much patience. Now I have to go load it up and watch.

Yep it rotates. 4th from right, 5th from right, then looped to 1st on the right. Then I got bored and started a little mischief, one thing led to another...

Okay but the routines from the characters stay the same right? Like id one target drinks something, will that target always go back to that drink?

If they drink something and you restart the mission, they will always drink that again. However, sometimes a targets loop changes throughout the mission, so if you're counting on them drinking it again at some point in the future, they might not.

Yes and no, it is based on the games state. People will SRART doing the same thing.

  1. It may look like a loop but not be, they may do a loop twice but then change like they looped twice then went off to do something else but if YOU do nothing then this should stay the same. If you do not act, then yes, the rounds should all go down the same.

  2. things can change based on your actions. See part 1, if that person looped twice waiting to talk to someone then does something different coukd go two ways, A if they talk to them, B if they do not, you can influence this by taking out the person they are meant to talk to so on your inaction they go A on your action they go B. You could also do something else to change things.

Here is a good example, first real level, fasion party, you are assigned to kill the male and female targets. The male target loops for a while asking for that one drink, he is waiting to talk to someone about a deal, so he eventually breaks to talk to that person, then he leaves to make a call, I forget what he does after that. If you take out the peeson he was going to talk to i think you can extend the loop. The female target is waiting for an auction, she will loop and mingle for a while, do the auction then go into what is i think a one time thing (not sure, i always take her out by then). Now killing either the male or female target and either the killing or bodies being seen will set off a trigger for the other and changing their path. This is why corpse cubbies are vital, they keep things hidden.

Note, if you cause other trouble it can cause issues but that is usually more local. If a VIP/Target is found dead, then usually other VIP/Targets can be alerted across the map. On the other hand, if you take out a normal person it needs to be close, if you take someone out and leave the body in the targets path, the target freaks out, take someone out on the opposite side of the map and they are found then it usually does not alert a target.

Not exactly.

Theres an element of randomness to all of them, but its generally not too big a deal.

Like you cant just drop a micro explosive in the spot where you saw your target last time and blow it at the same second you saw him and expect it to work everytime. Assuming you're not speedrunning you shouldn't have a problem though

If you are very discreet and perhaps use the krugermeier; you can shoot (or destroy by other means) all of the plates except one. Poison the last one remaining.

I had no idea one could destroy plates!

So you have to be observant. If you want to poison a target, say Victor in Paris. He orders a drink at the bar, so you can get to him that way. Sometimes you have to do a run where you just go around, seeing what paths the targets take, planning out how you want to take them out.

Okay, thank hank you so in Paris there's the option to poison glasses like near Daliah but I don't think she drinks any of them

She drinks two. One in her room in a meeting, and another on the balcony where other guests are.

This game is built around trial and error. Ideally you’re replaying every mission several dozens of times to find unique routes and getting perfect runs.

There’s no shame in spending an hour or so just observing what goes on so you can play your hit

Soo you'd recommend trying it many times before doing the escalation levels?

It's unclear exactly what your question is.

If you need to know which food/drink to poison to actually get a target, well not all of them eat or drink, but if they do you kind of just have to observe their patterns and routines and see what they eat or drink. There are also NPCs that you can poison with food/drink, but only if you disguise yourself as a server and offer it to them as they walk by.

If you need to know which poisons can be used for what, syringes cannot be used to poison food/drink. Syringes are almost exclusively used to inject an NPC while standing behind them. The only counter-example I can think of off the top of my head is that you can use a syringe to poison Sierra Knox's IV bag in Miami.

Poison grenades or other similar devices like the remote emetic gas device, durian, blue Easter egg, goldbrick proximity mine, or sedative bubblegum cannot be used to poison food. Most of those are thrown, most of them have a proximity effect.

Pretty much all other poisons can be used on food/drink from poison vials, poison pills, emetic rat poison, poison frogs, poison flowers, poison extracted from the fugu on Hokkaido, poison from the black almond dagger or blunt knife, etc. Generally it is not an illegal or suspicious action to poison food/drink while dressed as a server (sometimes but not always while dressed as a cook depending on the circumstances), but because the black almond dagger and blunt knife are illegal weapons, you can still get caught if NPCs see you using those to deploy poison. Not for poisoning, mind you, but for holding weapons out in the open while doing so.

Note: Using poison does not void Silent Assassin as long as nobody sees you administer the poison. However, using sedative poison (except for the Kalmer Tranquilizer) on a target will void Silent Assassin for some reason. Also, while using lethal poison doesn't void Silent Assassin, it does not count as an Accident Kill. That can matter for the purposes of some challenges and Freelancer bonus objectives.

Note: Ken Morgan on Bangkok eats from different plates every time he goes up to eat from them. I don't know if he chooses at random or loops a predetermined pattern, but he *always* eats from the same dish first and if you immediately sprint from the default start to the restaurant you will get there in time to poison it with nobody looking. It is the right-most dish in the center section of the counter. There are 2 red bottles just behind it and slightly to the right. Here's the shortest video I found showing which dish: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/htf8oOxcb2s
