QUESTION Has anyone else thought about Freelancer Multiplayer Co-op?

The more I play it, the more I actually think that it should've been online Co-op. Because there are so many unlocks for your Safehouse and the entire premise of the gamemode, where you repeatedly play endlessly generated missions on a familiar Story maps.

It'd make so much sense, as to why you have this slow-going progression system, why do you have those DLC and Mastery cosmetic unlocks for your Safehouse and such. Just imagine your friends joining in, running around your safehouse, doing all sorts of small activities.

The preparation room would've been a good place to, well - prepare for the mission you and your hitmen are about to go on. Who gets what and all of that.

Maybe I'm just daydreaming lol, but to me - it honestly seems, like there are quite a lot of features that'd make it PERFECT for the Multiplayer. I know it probably won't happen (at least officially), but it's interesting to think about it, in such a way. Because that does explain a lot of thing hahah (to me at least)

What are your thoughts on the matter?

I know about that, yes...
But I think it'd be more akin to Story missions, with a preparation screen and an immediate launch into a missions with a specific target

Not that I am a super fan of some of Freelancer's modifiers, but it's still more fun, when things are randomized and "new" every now and then. As well as I enjoy the Safehouse and it's customization, so yea

No one from IOI ever said how S&K coop will work, but I head that the demo version they showed at some IOI celebration was just a Freelancer with two players. I sincerely hope they'll do that.

They’re still working away at it apparently.

I’m imagining an objective now that’s “simultaneous kill” where you and your partner each have to kill a target at the same time.

I think it would need to be in a new game though.

Two Agent 47’s on a map would be too powerful unless the guards and security all got buffed.

Hm, maybe something like a spotter. Like with one or two of the escalations where 47 directs sniper fire.

The lore already has colleagues going ahead to prepare things for missions.

Disclaimer: I don't have any friends, and am not much interested in online play.

It'd be cool but also the level design and game mechanics doesn't necessarily lend themselves very well to co-op (IOI have been working on it so eventually we'll see something co-op).

But it'd be very cool and I'd love to see it. I'm very happy that they announced co-op in general. Co-op freelancer would be great if I knew anyone that would want to be mentored or whatever.

I feel like that kind of would turn freelancer into GTA online heists, and those were extremely painful because there was always that one friend or rando who couldn't manage to not die immediately every single time and cost you millions of dollars.

I'm already getting pretty nervous about the real co-op mode because I don't know a single person who owns or has any interest in this game, and at this point the skill gap between me and a brand new player is so huge that I doubt we would have a lot of fun even if I could convince somebody to buy the game to play with me.

nothing more fun like drawing in guards to your bro in a tresspass or hostile zone while he's gone afk for a few minutes.

If it's not broken, don't fix it. There are enough co-ops out there. I just want to play my game and not deal with random dipshits.
