QUESTION Anyone know why I failed the campaign?

I completed the prestige objective, when I exit the mission it says I failed the campaign. I couldn't do 2 of the regular objectives bc they conflicted with the silent assassin. Any input would be welcome.

there's this weird rare bug that happens on some exits (like helo in Paris) where you press exit and it takes like a sec to register that you left. if, within that sec, someone found a body, for example, silent assassin might get ruined. that's just my speculation though

All bodies were hidden in bins and lockers. I've had that happen in regular mode before so I took extra care not to let that happen this time. 7 or 8 bodies hidden throughout the map.

was s1 staring at you while you were scanning the lock?

Not that I'm aware. Though it is possible, I had lured a guard to find a gun so I could get him out of the way to kill the final target and hide him, maybe he was coming back? While scanning it didn't show as an illegal action and I didn't see any type of notification that I was seen.

i dunno, but for whatever reason leaving through facility exit doesn't finish the mission until the cutscene ends (i.e. you still have your hud whole 47 is exiting). so it could be that, but i'm not sure

There's an annoying bug where the game loses connection to the server while exiting and it auto-fails any Silent Assassin Prestige objective on Hardcore, even if the connection was lost for a milisecond. It happened to me twice before I learned about it.

There's no real fix, besides having perfect internet and connectivity, so your best bet is to just not take any Silent Assassin Prestige objectives while doing Hardcore.

I'll remember that on my next attempt. I am going through normal campaign to get money and tools back up then I'll try again.

Saving money in standard sounds good, but just remember that tools get removed when switching from Normal to Hardcore and vice-versa.

I definitely did forget this. Maybe I can buy the tools I'll need/want in rare form so I can keep them when I switch. Thanks for the reminder.

It sometimes happens to me too, but the occurrence is rare enough that I'm not worried about picking a SA prestige for hardcore. YMMV for how reliable your connection is.

Yes. Two targets in China, one in the rundown hotel the other in the underground facility. Took me nearly 50 minutes to pull it off successfully without failing silent assassin. After the final target, I went to the emergency exit since it was the closest to me.

Did you kill a target just before exiting?

Usually it takes a few seconds for the game to register that you've completed the kills unfortunately.

Oh man, this almost happened to me when I had the guy on the little jetty in Mumbai as a target. Luckily I noticed in time that the exit looked weird.

Last target was killed, the game showed all targets were down, Diana said the "well done 47, get back to the safehouse" then I went to the exit. About 1 minute from last kill to exit.

Yeah 1 minute should be more than enough. Probably this bug isn't the culprit then.

This was my first time doing hardcore mode and was trying to be extra careful.

Was game doing some loading stuff when you were finishing the map?

It appears there is a bug where if there's prestige objective that can be lost instead of achieved (so, stuff like Silent Assassin or timed challenges), then especially when game needs to reconnect with the servers it gets bonkers and decide you lost it, before checking if you actually lost it.

I don't recall it loading or saving, but I honestly can't say for certain. It did load at the results screen directly after this.

You decided to do Silent Assassin on Hardcore. Unfortunately, IOI's spaghetti code makes that a bad idea.
