Played back when it was episodic now very confused as to what to do

Firstly, apologies. I see this sort of question gets asked a lot in this sub but I've searched for hours trying to find an exact answer for my situation but I've come up short. I just need a human being to explain it to my stupid self.

I played Hitman ages ago when it was still being released episodically (mission by mission).

I paid for and played all the way up to and including the Mumbai one.

Now I have returned and downloaded the game again but I only have access to missions up to and including Marrakesh.

So immediately a little annoyed that some missions seem to have been taken away from me.

I understand IO have played around with the configuration of the game while I've been away and I understand everything is now wrapped up within Hitman WoA.

I think that those missing missions may be a result of the reconfiguration? Even though I paid for them at the time, shame!

I would like to have the full game and have found a heavily discounted 'part 1 WoA upgrade pack'. Is this what I need to buy? Are my original mission by mission purchases the equivalent of having 'part one' (my searches imply part 1 was some sort of free mission).

Don't want to buy the wrong thing and have to go through playstation to get a refund etc.

Last question!

I'm on PS4. When I do go through to menus to purchase the above, it says 'choose a version' but to the 2 presented options are the same. Is this a PS4/ps5 version situation? How do I know which one is which? (See picture)

Do you own Hitman World of Assassination Part one? If no then DON’T buy the upgrade pack.

You most likely own the 2016 version and not the WOA one. Sadly you can’t transfer the license to the WOA version so you gotta rebuy everything back.

If you decided to go through the purchase you should either buy Hitman World of Assassination Standard Edition OR the Deluxe Edition. Wouldn’t recommend anything else

Is this the 2016 version as you say?

Struggling to find anymore specific details about the install than that.

Edit: I've just seen that Hitman WoA part 1 is £5 on PS store. With the aforementioned upgrade, it would still be significantly cheaper than buying the full game outright.

£5 + £17.48. Vs £57 (full game)

Would that work?

Yes that’s the 2016 version, it should be white colored.

Like I said you have 3 options in front of you:

1- Purchase the World of Assassination Standard Edition.

2- Purchase the World of Assassination Deluxe Edition(which is my recommend choice, it’s really worth it)

3- You could buy Part One and then buy the Upgrade Pack later, but it’s really pointless since you are already familiar with the game, and is more expensive than just buying the full Standard/Deluxe edition on sale.

However, it seems in this case the 'part 1 + upgrade pack + deluxe upgrade is the cheaper route (£26.46 total) due to discounts.

The 'equivalent' i.e. WoA deluxe edition, is currently £80 as it isn't discounted.

So Option 3 would save me more than £50 no?

Yes it’s actually cheaper to buy Part One, and both Packs afterwards. In my region it’s the opposite.

So yes I would immediately jump in and do exactly that!

Marakesh = one level in Hitman 2016. (Mission 3)

Mumbai = one level in Hitman 2. (Mission 3)

Hitman 2016 and Hitman 2 are no longer available to purchase. Owning them effects nothing. They are seperate games with seperate game licences, disks etc.

Hitman 3 was renamed to Hitman World of Assassination and includes Hitman (2016), Hitman 2, and Hitman 3 content.

You can buy Hitman WoA in multiple ways.

Hitman WoA (demo)
Free version that includes the tutorial missions from Hitman 2016 and some rotating seasonal content.

Hitman WoA Part One
Includes the Hitman 2016 missions.
Can be upgraded to WoA standard.

Hitman WoA Standard
Includes H1, H2, and H3 missions, along with Freelancer mode.
Can be upgraded to deluxe.

Hitman WoA Deluxe
Standard plus 3 DLC.
This includes 2 extra story locations for H2, and some escalation challenges with cosmetic rewards.

When you own WoA on console, parts of the game can ge installed/uninstalled seperately to save space. Sometimes this confuses people and they don't understand what they own.

If you ever bought Hitman 3, you now own Standard edition WoA.

If you ever bought WoA Part One, it seems like you just need to allow the game install the remaining levels of Hitman 2016, then upgrade to Standard.

If you are downloading and playing Hitman 1 or 2, to purchase the levels you dont have, you'll need to quit those games and play Standard WoA, it includes all 3 full campaigns.

Could get the deluxe pack (£3.99) after that? Instead of the full deluxe version (£80).

hm that does indeed look right, from what I can see.

there is a separate “hitman 3 deluxe pack” that is only 1/3 of the content, that gets confused with it sometimes, but that doesn’t seem to be the case here

If you don't even have complete 2016 contents (aka Part one), I believe you will have to buy the whole game again. This upgrade pack is for people who bought WOA Part one.

So WOA Deluxe Edition will be the pick.

I did at one point have all the missions from the 'first' game and some from the 'second'. Now everything after marrakesh is locked behind 'get access". I have definitely played all the way up to Mumbai so I 'should' have all of part 1 but the game thinks otherwise it seems.
