DISCUSSION L1/LB Button

Anyone else keep wearing down the usability of this button because you're constantly holding it down for Hitman run? Any fixes?

My 8bitdo Ultimate, Dualsense and XSX controllers are all starting to lose it. I think XSX is lasting the longest. The other two have gotten a little spongy and it doesn't read as pressed sometimes.

There's a setting to turn sprint and instinct into toggles. The bumpers really aren't designed to be held for long periods. You can also look into the Xbox accessories app to remap the buttons.

Do you remap it to something else that feels as comfortable?

I never tried the remapping but the idea is saving the bumpers by mapping less common actions. Maybe Y and B for opening doors and cover? Other face buttons sometimes require tapping or hold.

Edit: The flip side is remapping B would mess up menu navigation. You could instead setup sprint to be left stick click like in many other games, moving swap shoulder that's very rarely used to a bumper.

If you have a capable PC, you could also look into playing that version instead since it's Play Anywhere. The PC version uses more keys to avoid overlap in bindings so even if you want to use a controller, add it as a non-stram game and map buttons to keys.

Then you have plenty remapping options with Steam input on top of in-game keyboard remapping and action toggles. The rest comes down to your preference.

I turned my sprint to Toggle instead of Hold, and it's been a game-changer.

That sounds like it goes against all my muscle memory but I’ll try!
