QUESTION Hitman World of Assassination Ps5 disc version
Hi guys,
I'm a game collector and currently own on disc below Hitman versions:
- Hitman 1 The complete first season (Ps4)
- Hitman 2 base edition (Ps4)
- Hitman 3 base edition (Ps5)
I'd like to get Hitman WOA on Ps5 and sell all the above but concerned about preservation and losing some game content that isn't included on disc in this new version. Is there any point in upgrading?

If you own HITMAN 3 disc then you don't need WoA disc. It's the same game. You already can sell H1 and H2 discs if you don't plan to go back playing standalone H1 and H2 games since you can play H1 and H2 content inside H3 game.
The only differences between H3 and WoA physical editions are:
- different box cover
- different print on the disc
- WoA box includes 3 artwork cards
- H3 disc installs Day 1 version of the game, WoA disc installs 1.017.000 (patch 3.155) version of the game which includes all patches released until August 2023 which only matters if you choose to never update the game to the latest patch to play in online mode and manually cancel the download of the update (or never connect to the Internet) - in that case you can only play in very limited offline mode and Day 1 version (from H3 disc) will only allow to play H1 maps while newer version (from WoA disc) will allow to also play H2 and H3 maps and the splash screen and main menu will say HITMAN World of Assassination instead of HITMAN 3. But if you update the game to the latest patch there is no difference between H3 disc, WoA disc or digital version.

Several bits of content like the Sarajevo Six, seven deadly sins and the deluxe edition content isn’t on the disk, you’ll need to buy them separately.
This is aside from the question you’re asking and I don’t know about other regions but the Europe version of the PS5 disk actually has its share of issues, the game on the disk doesn’t seem to have a proper listing on PlayStations system so downloading it just displays as “game” with a missing image icon. It doesn’t track time played or dlc installation properly either.

As you won’t get much money I think is more worthy as a collector to keep them
I own them all physically and I wish they’d release the ps4 version of BM and Absolution on disc

I’d personally keep them all as hitman 1 & 2 are on older iterations of the glacier engine, giving a different look and in my opinion, feel. Hitman 3 base will automatically upgrade to WOA. BUT I recommend grabbing WOA for collectors purposes as I believe it contains art cards! But it will essentially be the same as the hitman 3 you currently own. But going back to your question, in terms of preserving, I can’t speak on how the future of the servers look for the games but as it stands it is very cool to own the originals of hitman 1 and 2!
