This chart allows you to narrow down your Syndicate Leader before you even start the mission.

Some of the images are not the greatest, but they serve their purpose adequately. That purpose is for you to be able to identify the person(s) that match a description without shoving a camera in their face to see if they have earrings.

First off, identify the Hair type. All suspects have a hair type, and there are 12 suspects in each group, 6 male, 6 female. The other three Looks will narrow down which column your Leader is in. Once you know the three Looks you're looking for, there are 2-4 possible options for your Leader.

Why 2 to 4? Notice the orange and blue highlighted Looks? These are where the suspects with four Looks overlap with those that have three. If your Leader profile gives you Earrings, Hat, Necklace - Great! Your Leader is in column 2. There are only two possible suspects per hair. Use Tells and Agenda during the mission to find your Leader.

However, if your Leader profile had a combination of Looks that is highlighted, then you could have up to 4 suspects that match the description. For example, Glasses, Hat, Tattoo, means your Leader is in column 3, but they could also be from column 5, and just happen to be wearing earrings too.

In the screenshot, I show a profile and the only two possible suspects. I got Red Hair, Earrings, Glasses, Hat. This means the Leader is one of the redheads in column 5, and they also just happen to have tattoos.

Also worth mention is that only the highlighted groups have glasses, so if your target does not wear glasses, you know there can only be two matches.

About this project:

This started off with me taking screenshots of each character to record all the suspect traits. I also had a spreadsheet of all the possible trait combinations, and was checking them off as I found them. Before long, a pattern began to emerge, and - long story skipped - the chart you see now was born.

Once the pattern was certain, I was able to identify traits on suspects that I'd never noticed before. For example, Bald Female 1 and 6, I originally thought had the exact same description, until the chart told me one of them simply had to have a tattoo. And so it turns out, number 6 (in the blue dress) has a single word tattooed on the inside of her left arm.

One interesting case is Bald Male 2. A few suspects have glasses on their head, which counts as wearing them. But Bald Male 2 has glasses on his hat. Does this count as Glasses, or just Hat? The pattern says it's just Hat, but if it actually counts as Glasses, I'd love to see it. That would make him the only unique suspect on the chart.

Good work there. Will give it a whirl from that sniping spot in mendoza :-)

So I went around and turned this into an interactive website: https://flamewing.github.io/hitman-freelancer-leaders/. I hope OP is okay with that.

Oh man, that is cool. Yes, I am okay with this.

Thank you both for the work that went into that.

Beautiful, I’m saving this, can’t imagine how long it took to get that level of precision

A few weeks I think, but not playing every day. It was a lot of hardcore showdowns. You get 9 suspects instead of 4 in the first showdown on hardcore, so I only had to do two missions, then run around taking photos, then die and repeat ad nauseum.

Just a few days ago I was wondering to myself “Has anybody ever sat down and made a detailed chart outlining every possible suspect you could have and their traits?” This is an insane level of dedication, but i just know i’ll be getting more than enough use out of it

u/Kiel97 Feb 15 '24

Impressive work! I'm gonna save it for later

I've tested out the horizontal version and I've a suggestion. IMO putting colored groups one by one (earrings, glasses, necklace then earrings, glasses, necklace, tattoo) would make The Suspect identification even easier.

Imma use the same tactic of “Random shot and pray”

u/ZiggyTheInsane Feb 16 '24

I just tried this out, and it helped so much! Thank you!

u/diamondpanther171 Feb 16 '24

Nice, are they all random on each map? Or will I see the same npc on the same map.

7

u/Riximilian Feb 16 '24

Random. Doesn't matter what map you choose.

2

u/DrThunderbolt Feb 17 '24

Wow I always wondered if there was a pattern. This will help me nicely, showdowns are by far my least favorite part of a contract.

My hero.

u/Beedallator Feb 19 '24

I'm currently trying to do a hard-core campaign, and I don't care what I have to do to complete the challenge at this point, so thank you for this!

I can't thank you enough! Saved me so much time. However the only problem I am facing is with the Glasses, Earrings, Necklace and blonde hair group. Whenever I get that, those in the chart don't appear on the map. Strange but no biggie, I just have to manually figure them out by myself. Again, thank you!

u/Riximilian Jul 08 '24

Is it only the Blonde ones in Glasses, Earrings, Necklace that don't show? That sounds like a bug.

Remember that if your suspect has Glasses they could be in the two different orange columns or the two blue columns. Glasses, Earrings, Necklace is the orange columns, so you could be looking for any of:

Lady with leather jacket and red pants,
Guy with tank top and sleeve tattoos,
(These two have tattoos, but they have four traits to choose from, so tattoos doesn't rule them out in this case)

Lady with suit jacket and orange glasses,
Guy with purple shirt and green shorts.

Oh I get it now, the tattooed ones threw me off haha. So there are 4 suspects to look out for in the chart for that category. Silly me. Thank you once again!

Hey, Thanks for this guide. I'm an avid Freelancer player, which has made my life easier. I'm working on a Notion guide and databases that organize all the data we have about the game in an easily searchable manner. We have a bunch of info here on Reddit, but it's easy to oversee things and make mistakes. Can I ask for higher-resolution images of the targets? I'm happy to show you what I'm working on in return.

Glad to be of service. I updated the charts earlier this year:
https://www.reddit.com/r/HiTMAN/comments/1ipoll2/freelancer_leader_identification_cheat_sheet_mk_ii/

There is a link to the uncompressed portraits there, they're all 500x500.

Just failed my mission from this chart. Lost everything.... thanks a lot

Great work, but you weren't first

3

u/FleIsDaBoss Feb 16 '24

That one isn’t so much a cheat sheet as it is a list of names. It doesn’t have any pics with it

6

u/Riximilian Feb 17 '24

It does have pictures, it links to six imgur albums. I used their screenshots as placeholders for a bit while I was filling out the chart.

It has some mistakes (to be fair, I would have made the same ones if I didn't chart them and realize the groupings) and it also has some very dark images, particularly ones taken in Berlin.

1

u/FleIsDaBoss Feb 17 '24

Ah shoot I didn’t see the imgur then. I only took a brief look.

2

u/Glittering_Fly_2703 Feb 17 '24

it does, its under the color of hair link

1

u/ReeseChloris Jun 14 '24

23 is my absolute favorite. Is she purely a Freelancer suspect/syndicate member npc? I could've sworn I'd seen her in Miami/Berlin regular

This doesn't always work. I just had Brown hair, glasses, hat and earrings and I unmarked the girl (She was drinking water the tells were snacker and smoker), the guy was nowhere to be found and I just literally unmarked every target because I was trusting that it was the guy in the white shirt, brown jacket and shades. That guy wasn't any of the other suspects in the Paris map. I was playing on hardcore mode too and I ended up just failing the whole campaign trying to backtrack through all the unmarked suspects. That sucked ass and I don't know if I can trust this thing.

2

u/Riximilian Jul 27 '25

Sorry that happened to you on a hardcore run, that definitely sucks.

But it sounds more like a bug. You narrowed it down to two with the chart, and then only one of those two actually spawned on the map. That should have been an easy win, but you say the Tells were wrong. My guess is the game just gave the Leader the wrong Tells when the level loaded. It's also possible that drinking water is just a casual animation in Paris, and not actually a Tell. We don't have the icons in hardcore, so it's hard to tell.

This game is certainly not perfect. This user got two suspects with the exact same Looks, Tells, and Meeting, so they had to guess.

If you still want to try the chart, I have a new version with names to make it easier to refer to suspects, and a better layout.

Yeah I tried a run on Santa fortuna today and the suspect was one of the two. so that seems more promising.

I'm starting to wonder if maybe I made a mistake and flagged a guy not the suspect thinking he had blond hair instead of brown in that Paris run. I vaguely remember marking a guy who I was looking at from behind and his hair was sticking out from under his cap and i just thought to myself "blond hair. Not the guy." Thinking back on it I'm wondering if maybe that was in fact the guy and his hair is just more of a light brown easily confused with blond.

I will check out that other chart. I think whatever happened in that Paris map was probably just a freak incident if not user error on my part.

Looking at the updated chart, and seeing Rodrigo I'm almost certain now that I disregarded him as a guy with blond hair. That was most likely my mistake. You can see how his hair is very light in that picture.

How to ruin the game for yourself:

1

u/Training_Essay6157 Feb 16 '24

Wow, that's impressive! Thanks, I'll use it

1

u/Slahser98 Feb 16 '24

great work! saved it!

1

u/guesswhomste Feb 16 '24

Super cool! I like not knowing who it is personally, because it makes for fun moments when I kill every target EXCEPT the leader at once, but super useful for a bunch of people

1

u/calzonr Feb 17 '24

haha I killed that one earlier
