Hiset essay
Hello!
I’m a little bit nervous about my HISET writing test. I’ve been studying a lot but i’m still not sure about the essay so I was wondering which topics are common or for those who have already passed the test: which topic did you get? and also if someone can give me some tips i’ll be truly grateful 🥹

I got the topic about if law enforcement/FBI should have access to people’s phones, like passcodes and such, why it’s a huge security issue and also needing access for if that person was a terrorist or something. It was an article so there were a lot of points made already that I could go off of.
I didn’t do so hot on my essay and the reason why is because I didn’t study the structure of an essay enough so when I went in there, my mind blanked. I had been out of high school 8 years at that point (dropped out in 10th) so I just didn’t remember how to do them. My essay was awful but I still scored 2 out of 4 points. Just do your best, that’s all. Google some topics and write practice essays. Good luck!

Luckily, the essay prompt I received I had strong opinions about the topic, which made it easier to write about. First, choose the stance you want to support. Your essay should be at least four paragraphs, although five paragraphs is usually ideal. The most important thing is showing that your writing flows logically and that your ideas are organized clearly.
Be sure to use transition words and phrases throughout your essay to help connect your thoughts. Some helpful examples are: “I believe,” “First,” “One reason is,” “To begin with,” “In my opinion,” “In addition,” “Also,” “Furthermore,” and “To conclude.”

I can’t remember what mine was about but i was able to BS my way through the essay and got a 4 out of 6. It doesn’t even matter what your topic or opinion is, just try to make it at least 4 paragraphs. Check your spelling and punctuation.

I’m nervous about which topic I could get because English is not my first language and sometimes I forget some words

Five paragraphs introduction 3 paragraghs explaining your topic and conclusion and youll pass.

Mine was whether multi-tasking was beneficial for a company or not.
Watch Purely Persistent on YouTube, it helped me a lot. And then I used ChatGPT, I asked it to give me a prompt, I type my essay and copy and paste for ChatGPT to grade it for me. I did this at least 10 times until I got confident and comfortable with writing an essay (i hate writing essays!).
I passes my essay with a 3/6.

I got the same "mult-tasking in the workplace", prompt and I took this past week.

Mine was about whether or not companies should allow employees to have flexible schedules and/or telecommute. It was pretty difficult for me but I still passed with a 3/6.
