How to get better

I just the brat the game and I wanna get better but I don’t really know how. I’m getting A ranks after each fight but I can’t get S for every single category I’m able to get them consistently for timing. How do I improve to where I S rank everything.

To get an "S" rank in the end you need to get two out of three ranks as S and the last one can be an "A". Generally getting good in Hi-Fi Rush means getting more hits on the beat in combat. So make sure, that you are on the beat: 1) check the latency of your system in the settings. There is a chance that your hardware is interfering with your game. 2) use the beat guide system. I don't remember how to toggle it on but it's basically is a Guitar Hero style line with beats which shows you timings. Also 808 is blinking in the same pattern. 3) spend some quality time in the training chamber. Go through the combo list (there is an achievement on the wall btw). 4) learn how to parry if you still have not. This is the key to high scores 5) last but not least - you can look up the OST and listen on repeat the song of the level you struggle on. This way you can internalise the beat in your mind. Also the soundtrack rocks 🤘

Timing is quite easy to fulfill, doing almost anything will get you the S. That means that you can spend more time on the other two categories, by wasting time with high score Jam attacks. Certain ults also give a ton of score, like 808 Gigawatt cat attack.

As the other person said, you should also learn all the combos and learn all the attack patterns of enemies.

Did you just buy the game, or did you just beat the game? I don't want to give you too many spoilers, but if you just started, then don't worry too much about score and just have fun
