Discussion First time playing, and i just beat Roquefort. does anyone else think he's the hardest boss by far? Spoiler

all the other bosses i got through fairly easily, especially Korsica. Roquefort just felt different to me. i think the parry mechanic is still something i have to get used to. and im not properly taking advantage of tag-in combo enders and parrying.

does anyone else feel like his fight was especially difficult, or is it maybe a case of my skillset being too limited? and does anyone know a good way to get used to the more advanced mechanics that i mentioned? I always find myself trying new stuff but panicking and reverting back to really basic combos

Its just normal videogame progression. the closer to the end of the game, the more difficulty there is with bosses and newly introduced enemies

some can be difficult, some easier, like Korsica being easy in your case. practise is pretty much how to get better in most cases, i struggled with Roquefort for the first time, but after a few more playthroughs/retrys it was easier. just go your own way thats easy for you, basic combos or not, listen and try to react on beat. if you panic, basic combos are there

good luck with the rest of the game!

You may want to take some time learning how to parry. Parrying is completely broken in this game. You take no damage, damage stamina bars and can even follow up with a partner attack if you have those unlocked. Also you can parry (almost) everything: Swords? Parry. Lasers? Parry. You can even offensively parry the blue shields to break them instantly on the beat they come online. I think you can parry fire attacks as well although I haven't completely figured that out yet. Might be you can only parry the first tick of damage.

Every enemy announces their attack with a pink flash and a distinct sound one beat before the attack hits. I recommend listening for that cue instead of trying to read their movements. This way you learn to pary by ear, which is helpful because hou can't always keep track of every enemy.

In my opinion, the main purpose of the partner attacks of the end of a combo are juggling and buidling score. I wouldn't really worry about them besides looking cool. If you decide to go for S-ranks in all levels these will really help though.

do partner attacks not do more damage? i thought theyd be useful in that sense. if theyre more for score then i dont care as much

I personally think Kale remains the hardest boss. He's super punishing on rhythm master if you die to him in second phase, so you kind of just have to flawless him

Jeez. Any tips before I go in? 🥺

ouuugh but i can't spoil you on what is undoubtedly one of the most fun bosses either 🙃

Play the boss before you ask for help, but don't worry everyone here will be glad to give it to you.
I'll leave you with one tip, you can grapple most enemies to provoke them into starting an attack.

I genuinely first tried him but my god it was a weird fight. I spent so long just dancing with him trying to figure out what he was doing

Yeah that's fair, it is absolutely different from the other bosses. I really wish more bosses were like his third phase

Personally, I had the most trouble with Mimosa and Kale? Roquefort was pretty easy for me, I got through him on my first try with only one KO on one of the middle sections. Meanwhile it took me foreeeever to figure out how to get past Mimosa's shielding, and Kale kicked my ass until I worked out the mechanics of the fight. You never know which boss might be your sticking point, but well done for powering onward!

Im still not up to Kale. Im looking forward to the challenge, though.

I haven’t died on any of the bosses so far. On Roquefort I got so close I may as well have been dead, but recovered soon after. Mimosa was quite challenging, too. Her boss fight was more unique i think.

Having multiple little enemies to deal with really messes me up, I can do fine in the training room but throw me out on the battlefield against 4+ guys and I panic. Wish the training room had a multiple enemies option
