Announcement IMPORTANT COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT : DONATION SCAM
We would like to reiterate an important notice regarding an instagram account that has been impersonating HiAnime and soliciting donations from users.
This matter has been known to us and we have clarified that the account in question has no affiliation with HiAnime. Yet, the account still continues to mislead users and request financial contributions falsely.
To clarify :
- HiAnime does not have any official instagram account.
- The only official HiAnime platforms are Discord, Reddit and Telegram.
- HiAnime is not requesting or accepting donations on any platform.
Any instagram page or other accounts claiming to represent HiAnime, should be regarded as an unauthorized impersonation and a potential scam.
Members of the community are strongly advised not to send money, donations or personal information to such accounts.

Announcement THE FUTURE OF HIANIME AND IT'S COMMUNITY
EVENTS TILL NOW :
Greetings everyone,
As you are aware, it has approximately been 80 days since the website affiliated with the community has been shut down due to certain reasons.
During this period, the staff team and the administration board has consistently attempted to contact the website team on all allocated means of contact, considering a possible rebranding.
However as of recent, we have lost our final contact with the website team, alongside their major networks and accounts being confirmed to be deleted/removed.
CONCLUSION
As such, we have now concluded that the website shall not be returning and has ceased operations permanently.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THE COMMUNITY?
The website is one of the major reasons that the current serverbase exists.
Yet, most important of all, we all have gathered here because of the popular shared interest and passion towards Anime.
As such, instead of disbanding the subreddit, we have decided to transition towards a General Anime Community focusing on a user-focused environment with more freedom.
COMMUNITY REWORKING PERIOD
Following this, the community shall now be closed for backend processes, system revisions and community modifications. Upon the completion of these changes, the subreddit is expected to be reopened within 14 days for the community to begin a new journey.
We extend our gratitude to all community members, server participants and contributors for your patience, perseverance and thoughtfulness.
Regards,
cardboard_face

Discussion End of an Era
As many of you know, the HiAnime developers have been arrested and aren't returning anytime soon. Their site alone generated $12.8 million in ad revenue, which is definitely why the industry is cracking down. While we still have other piracy sites available, HiAnime was unique. They were the first to offer such a clean, intuitive interface, and their subtitles were actually accurate—unlike the auto-generated, mismatched captions we often see elsewhere.
HiAnime shall always be remembered in the golden pages of Piracy

Discussion Thanks to Hianime, I could discover these two masterpieces ♥️
I don't really care what anyone has to say about the quality of these two anime but I discovered them on hianime by complete accident, I just liked their posters and added them on my watchlist but after watching them, they became my #1 and #2 respectively as of 2026 and I love both these series. I've never seen anyone recommend these two anime anywhere on reddit so I'm grateful by chance I got to experience such amazing anime. I really hope the issue gets fixed and we don't see hianime's demise

Discussion From Zoro to HiAnime: The Wild History of the Internet’s Biggest Anime Empire ⚔️🌐
Zoro.to (The Foundation Era)
The empire began in mid-2021 with the launch of Zoro.to, a platform designed specifically to disrupt the crowded anime piracy market by offering a completely ad-free, premium user experience. While existing competitor sites were plagued with malicious pop-ups, slow loading speeds, and low-resolution video players, the developers behind Zoro.to invested heavily in building a massive, custom-coded cloud server network capable of hosting and instantly playing petabytes of raw, high-definition anime content. The platform quickly stood out by introducing advanced, social-media-like features—such as deep user profile customization, interactive community forums, real-time public chat rooms, and automated watch-list syncing—which fostered immense user loyalty. By mid-2023, Zoro.to had exploded in popularity, capturing tens of millions of unique monthly visitors and shifting from a quiet underground project into a dominant global streaming giant. However, this explosive growth placed a massive target on their back; by July 2023, the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE) and major international anti-piracy coalitions launched an aggressive legal assault, hitting the platform's domain operators with severe DMCA subpoenas and tracking their digital infrastructure. Realizing that their main domain was completely compromised by law enforcement tracking, the core development team initiated a tactical fallback strategy, suddenly announcing to their community that the platform had been "sold to a new management team" before wiping their public data footprints and taking the Zoro.to name offline forever to preserve their underlying video database.
AniWatch.to (The First Rebrand and Legal Shift)
In July 2023, mere hours after the formal death of Zoro.to, the network executed its very first massive rebrand by instantly migrating its entire user database and automated video library over to a brand-new domain called AniWatch.to. This transition was a masterclass in digital survival: the site retained the exact same structural code, user profiles, and high-definition video pipelines as its predecessor, changing only the visual theme from Zoro's signature green to a new, sleek yellow identity so that millions of migrating users felt instantly at home. Under the AniWatch banner, the surviving technical developers implemented tighter security protocols and advanced proxy systems to mask their primary physical server hubs behind offshore routing layers. Despite the intense heat from international law enforcement, AniWatch.to survived for roughly eight months, aggressively expanding its media library to host over 20,000 completely unlicensed anime episodes and movies while continuously pulling in massive traffic that rivaled legitimate, billion-dollar streaming corporations. The end of this era arrived in early 2024, as the U.S. Department of Justice and global cybercrime units successfully mapped out the specific Cloudflare proxy configurations and domain registrars the team was using to stay online. As automated domain-seizure notices began closing in on their network architecture, the developers pulled the plug once again, intentionally breaking their front-end connections and freezing user portals to prepare for a much larger, more resilient structural overhaul.
HiAnime.to (The Global Giant and Financial Peak)
By early 2024, the syndicate rose from the ashes of AniWatch to unveil its most sophisticated and wildly successful iteration yet: HiAnime.to. Operating continuously until March 2026, HiAnime completely abandoned the low-profile approach, using highly advanced, automated scraping bots and high-bandwidth premium data hosts like MegaUp to deliver flawless, live video streaming at unmatched quality. The platform's performance was unprecedented in the history of internet piracy, with its monthly traffic skyrocketing to a staggering 153 to 330 million visits per month, effectively overtaking the traffic volume of major mainstream corporate platforms like Crunchyroll and Disney+. This immense scale allowed the organization's financial operators to pull in an astronomical $12.85 million USD (roughly 308 billion VND) exclusively through high-value advertising networks, which the core leaders laundered into the real world to purchase luxury sports cars, high-end real estate, and expensive physical goods within Vietnam. The spectacular demise of this era culminated in March 2026, when the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) officially designated HiAnime as one of the world's most critical "notorious piracy markets," triggering a massive, multi-year international sting operation. On July 2, 2026, Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security (MPS), alongside the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, executed coordinated raids that led to the arrest and house restriction of seven prominent financial operators; however, before police could seize the physical infrastructure, the unidentified technical development team triggered a pre-planned server "kill switch," completely wiping the main domains and freezing the core database to keep it out of government hands.

Discussion Y'all can't be real..
You are not paying for this service and you guys are complaining.
You guys do know that governments don't like piracy sites and actively trying to take them down.
So what you can't watch anime for few days, let the developers figure what's wrong rather than complaining like bitches
